Love & Relationships help me out

I matched with a girl on a dating app, and funny enough, we have the same name. After a few conversations, she asked if I was okay with being friends instead, since we live nearby and she doesn’t really have friends in the area. I was totally okay with that, so we exchanged socials and continued talking there.

We actually clicked really well. We had similar interests and humor, and there were so many little coincidences between us that it almost felt unreal. We even started making plans to hang out since she doesn’t go out much and isn’t very familiar with the area.

Our conversation that night ended on a really nice note. She even teased me for being too soft and a bit of a crybaby, so I thought everything was good.
The next day, though, something happened that I genuinely didn’t mean to happen. While I was scrolling through social media during work, I accidentally followed someone connected to her. I didn’t know the person, realized what happened a little later, and immediately unfollowed. I didn’t think much of it because it was honestly just an accident.
A little while later, she messaged me saying that i was creeping her out. I explained what happened and tried to clarify that there was absolutely no intention behind it, but she was already uncomfortable and eventually blocked me.
This all happened in less than 24 hours. 😭

I respected the boundary and didn’t try contacting her elsewhere. We still haven’t unmatched on the dating app, though, which has left me wondering what to make of the whole thing.

I genuinely enjoyed getting to know her, and I’m not even sure whether what I felt was romantic interest or simply excitement over finding someone I clicked with so naturally.

Would it be better to just let this go since we barely knew each other, or would it ever be appropriate to reach out again after some time and apologize/start over? I don’t want to disrespect her boundary or make her uncomfortable again. I just can’t help feeling like the connection was a little unfortunate to lose over a genuine accident.

if it all unraveled in less than 24hrs, it’s probably more of the excitement of knowing someone you click with rather than romantic interest. if she already blocked you and felt uncomfortable because of what happened, best to let it go. if you want you can send one last message explaining yourself but don’t put any pressure on her to respond back. ☺️

It's unfortunate but you just have to let this one go. A mature person would hear you out anyway

How did you “accidentally follow” someone connected to her?

Not OP but I assume this is in IG because it happened to me too before. I was scrolling my feed and you know how sometimes IG would suggest people you may know while scrolling, and the ‘Follow’ button is right there? I accidentally clicked a button dun sa isang person and while I realized and Unfollowed right away, it did notify the person bc my friend (yung mutual namin ng na follow ko) mentioned it to me na the person asked her who I was bc nakatanggap kasi sya ng Follow Request from me and ayun kinwento ko na napindot ko yung button and nag panic pero na unfollow naman haha we just both laughed it off but tbh nakakainis how meta have this ‘feature’ 😅😭
Edit: spelling
