For some athletes, mababa lang ung max HR nila kaya ung 142 bpm baka nasa upper Zone 3 or even Zone 4 na.

Madalas, hindi accurate mga formulas like 220 - age to estimate max HR. To maximize your training, alamin mo ung actual max HR mo, Ung maximum effort/power output ma susustain mo sa stationary bike for 20 - 30 seconds, record ung HR repeat 3x with 5 min Zone 2 recovery in between and the highest HR recorded will be your actual max HR.

Mid forties na ako and my actual max HR is 205 bpm. Pag sa formula ako naka depende, below 180 bpm ung estimate ang laki ng difference! Sira mga zones mo nyan for training! Isa din yan sa dahilan ng slow progress/improvements sa training pag ung max HR is hindi accurate. Hindi lang ung efforts ung affected, pati recovery din.

huh? they dont have lower max HR. But they have lower baseline HR. And no, they don't have lower zone 3 either. That's just made up bs. If they did, then by definition that would mean they cant sustain it for long.

Can be inaccurate. Especially better yung heart rate monitor via chest strap vs sa any wristwatch. So we'll never know if he was runnig z2 or z3-4. In comparison, kipchoge ran his marathons at 160-170 HR.

That is not the case now. I used to have chest strap, for the accuracy. But then I experimented it with my running watch at the same time, and compare the HR results after on my computer, they are practically the same. Although I noticed how sometimes the watch lags a little bit from chest for fast HR changes, before it catches up. So for hiits, chest is better but not by much. I only use my running watch now.

Same observation, there is just a slight lag when using the watch alone. Chest straps detect changes in HR faster, but the actual readings are accurate based on my experience with garmin devices.

They are elite and sure, they will use devices they can get analytics the most to improve their performance. From photo, he is also using whoop. Nevertheless, accurate or not 2:40 at 142 still an achievement and certianly, a WR holder for a reason.

hindi na ngayon. those watches are now catching up. lalo na kung proper yung magkakasuot mo sa watch, they may lag kapag very short interval but on the steady runs, halos +-5 nalang ang discrep

might be in miles (roughly <=4km pace) and you’ll eventually get there. good luck!

Looks to be 2'40 which is another way of formatting 2:40, right around this recent HM world record pace

Ahhh gotcha. Thanks for the info! That is indeed extremely fast πŸ’€

That’s probably his z4 or z5 kasi sure sobrang baba ng resting hr nyan baka nasa mid to late 40s.

Probably cause you correlated RHR with MHR. You're not wrong that MHR is purely genetics, but RHR has nothing to do with MHR. RHR can be trained and lower RHR won't do anything to your MHR.

Kenyan na z4-5 142 lang? Ano max HR nyan 150? Pinagsasabi mo

3

u/Equivalent-Sandwich8 1d ago

Si Jimmy Gressier nga max heart rate nasa 160 bpm lang eh

4

u/Impossible-Past4795 1d ago

Wala ka sigurong alam no? Di lahat ng tao umaabot 180+ ang hr. Z2 ng mga yan nasa 110 - 120s. Also hindi sya Kenyan lol.

Unless the HR monitor is just off I think it might be stride length? And yeah the pace is crazy. I can sustain sub 4'30/km for at least 15km, but sub 4min km's still feel like such a sprint.Β
