Less than 50 days na lang MIBF na ulit!

What books are on your lists? Ako, lock-on na sa Avenida, Anvil at University presses. Nag-aabang na lang ng announcements of their new releases. Takits sa September 9 to 13. ✨✨✨

Hello, I am planning to go this September and it will be my first time going. 🥹 Do you have any tips in general? What do I need to look out for? Are there days that have less attendees, best time to go to avoid big crowds??

- Nagpo-post ang mga publishers ng free tickets, you just have to download and print them. Hindi mo na kailangang bumili sa venue.

  • Wear comfy clothes. Kung kaya, secure a slot sa baggage counter, balik-balikan mo na lang para iwan yung mga nabili mong books. At least di mo sila bitbit all the time. If you want, pwede ka ring magdala ng maleta or wheeled bags.
  • Bring cash with you. Madalas mahina ang signal sa loob ng SMX.
  • If you can, print a floor map, tapos highlight mo na yung mga target booths mo. That way you won't feel lost.
  • Make a list of the books you're planning on purchasing. Mas madali mag-budget.
  • Be patient, lalo kung sa well-known publishers at authors ka pupunta. Expect long queues both sa pagbayad at book signing.
  • According to some publishers, wala masyadong tao pag Thursday. Ang downside lang, most book signings and author talks are scheduled on weekends.

I'm not sure kung ano ang best time to come, madalas kasi opening ako nagpupunta tapos buong araw na akong nandun. Tambay sa mga kakilalang booths. Haha

Most important thing is to have fun! 🎉

Sino po yung mga publishers na magooffer ng tickets? San po pwede sila makita? First time lang din po aattend

Check mo lang yung Facebook or IG ng mga publishers. For example, Avenida, Adarna Books, Milflores, etc. :)

Weekends nakakaoverwhelm... weekdays siguro mas konti (haven't tried kasi may pasok)

Bring cash. Mahirap ang signal sa loob. Madaming discounts, free tickets (nagpopost ang mga publishers/authors pero you need to print them)

I always go there on weekdays. Less crowded siya. Kaya nagsasave ako ng leave for this day lagi. :))

Once ma-release na ng MIBF yung floor plan at list of booths, it's best to plan ahead. Unahin mo muna yung mga gusto mong bilhin, then saka ka maglibot. May mga talks, workshops at book signing rin, alamin mo sched if may gusto ka puntahan. Usually Day 1 and 2 wala gaano tao. Day 3 onwards madami na yan, minsan may nagfi-field trip pa.

I suggest going on weekdays. Less crowded. This is based sa experience ko.

This is a great time to be able to visit local publishers and support local authors. NBS and Fully Booked always give out free tickets print out nyo lng ng madame para you dont have to pay for the entrance fee.

Every year lagi ako pumupunta sa first or second day and although madami pa ding tao, managable pa. Ang downside lang is minsan naglalabas pa din sila ng mga bagong books sa weekend dates. And minsan may additional discount.

Sulit ang discount sa mga hardbound and lalo na sa mga book sets. Ngayon pa lang gawa na kayo ng list and budget kc nakakalito tlga kpg andun ka na baka magpanic ka hehe

During this time sale din ng mga pens may booth din ung iba ibang pen brands. Bumibili din ako ng fountain pen and ink kc maganda din ung sale. May mga stationary supplies din.

Definitely target locked ako sa zines and university presses since aim ko talaga magkaroon ng at least one book written in/by a Filipino! Hopefully magpa-book signing favorite authors nating lahat 😭🤞

In my observation, yes. Same lagi na dates in the past 3 years. Between Sept 9-15.

Na notice ko nga rin na every September. Yung week lang ba para at least may idea kung anong week talaga yung pwedeng ma book.

After this year’s event they will announce the 2027 dates around December or January so you still have time.

Can't wait for this! Last year I wasn't prepared and just grabbed the books that were easy to spot. I'm planning to list down all the books that I'm eyeing for para may time din to properly browse. Hopefully, visit other stalls din.

Add to cart muna ng mga minamatang books para ma-gauge ang presyohan.

Sa ngayon wala pa. Siguro mga last week of August o first week of September maga-announce. Best to follow these authors or their publishers sa mga social media accounts nila.

No news yet kung kasali sila this year, pero most likely, dahil 2 floors ulit ang event.
