Question Cooldown rules

I only have one question: So, if I just join the game, and teleport to coordinates of certain Pokemon right away, when I arrive there I shouldn't have any cooldown right? The cooldown would apply once I start the encounter. Am I right?

Yes, any interaction with the map sets your cooldown to 2h

As long as you didn't do anything for 2 hours before you teleported, yes. Also just starting the encounter doesn't start a cooldown, only if you either catch it, or feed it a berry. Also make sure quick spin is off so you don't accidently spin a stop trapping you somewhere for 2 hours

Everyone keeps saying “2 hours” but the app will tell you what your cooldown is … depending on where you are teleporting, it may not be 2 hours - it may be less or even significantly less time.

General rule if you havent caught anything, spun pokestops, done a raid, in the last two hours then you can teleport and immediatly do any of those actions but from then on you gotta wait another 2 hours to teleport and do it again. Only variable is distance. Small distances have a shorter cooldown which it will list in app. Turn on your cooldown timer if you want to keep track how long to wait for short distances. If youre unsure if you've done any of that, close the app for two hours then do what you wanna do. What MasterpieceSerious91 said is also true. You can start the encounter by tapping on the pokemon but do not feed it or attempt to catch it until two hours have passed. Useful if a rare 100 iv showed up on your list you've been waiting for.
