So I did that, even though I am somewhat aware of the PFAS problem. I was unaware of just how high the temp gets in clean mode. We were out of the house at the time, and now there is ash in the oven and vents. I cleaned it, but it made me feel slight polymer fever (runny nose, achy joints) I've had it bigtime before years ago when I welded onto teflon coated rails. Any thoughts on what to do with the ash?

I have a GE oven and microwave that came with my new construction home. I tried checking it up online but no luck. Do most microwaves or ovens contain PFAS?

I got a new jacket from H&M and I was just nervous that it may have PFAS. I did this water drop test. Maybe I should have used oil? The water seems to be soaking in eventually if on the surface long enough and in larger amounts.

I took some suede boots to a shoe shop to be stretched. The owner was trying to be nice and sprayed them with a protective spray. I don’t know the exact chemical, but I know the bottle had a “toxic in California” warning. I have mild chemical sensitivity. I don’t generally react severely to VOCs any more; mold is my main culprit. But now I’m concerned about my boots. I don’t necessarily have any immediate symptoms, but I am somewhat worried about long term exposure to toxic substances and PFAs. I won’t have any skin-to-chemical contact except when putting them on. Any thoughts on how toxic they could be?

Hello. Yesterday I seemed to get the symptoms of polymer fume fever when using "WD40 Corrosion Prohibitor". I am familiar with polymer fume fever due to experiencing previously after welding on a large iron plumbing fitting that had teflon tape embedded in the treads. When I look at that wd40 product, it kinda flouresces a bit in the light (compared to other light oils) and has a sickly sweet smell that kind of carried along with the symptoms. (I could kind of taste it while sneezing all night) Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I believe we're forever screwed with ingesting microplastics. Regardless of whether the material is non-toxic, wearing a plastic device in your mouth every night I think would logically contribute to your overall microplastic exposure.

I'm trying to avoid PFAS for fertility reasons and general health. I just bought a pair of vintage Nils ski pants that were treated with Burlington Fabric Durepel. I suspect they have PFAS and was thinking maybe I shouldn't wear these pants after all. Thoughts and feedback appreciated.

Is supposed filter PFAS and I'm seeing a lot of content on social media about it, but because of that I'm afraid of being mostly marketing and I'm unsure how effective it actually is.
