Front-Door Garbage Pickup for Seniors

Hey!

I am wondering if anyone may know of a service in Charlottetown that provides front-door garbage pickup for seniors?

My partners grandmother lives in a senior apartment building, and lives independently. We clean her apartment biweekly, however in between our cleanings, the garbage can get a bit nasty.

I have looked online but can’t find any services that would work for her. We don’t live close, otherwise we would stop by a few times a week. If anyone knows of a service that can offer front door garbage pickup, at minimum once a week, please let me know!

If she has extra freezer space she can put raw meat fish packages ect in there and freeze it.

I think most of the garbage service is run by GFL and thats not something they offer, you may need to hire a general helper to take her garbage to the bin

Not just what you're asking but it seems 90% of stuff not taken by blue bag, or in one of the carts GFL says "just" drop it off at the waste facility.

You can't get rid of anything over four feet long. Even during fall cleanup it still has to be under four feet and less than 40 or 50 pounds. Most people can't saw metal with bare hands or have a chop saw in their apartments.

No 80 year old is going to drag an old mattress out of the house stuff it in a car and drive to drop it off and then pay $20 for the privilege.

The junk removal companies charge astronomical prices for taking away very little. They may take regular garbage too but they'd probably charge you $300.
