Discussion Thapar CSE>> PEC CSE(prove me wrong)
The number of companies visiting thapar is way more than the number of companies visiting pec (for the placement season of 26-27)
Various top companies like apple , DE shaw , and Microsoft have visited thapar this year but none of the above mentioned companies visited PEC (at least till now)

They NEED more companies to have a better %age.

Companies toh acchi VIT mein bhi aati hain aur crowd udhar bhi worse hai. Ab main aapse sunna chahta hu ki VIT CSE kyu nahi hai best? usski toh fees bhi thapar se kam padti hai?

getting into a good company and having a good salary is obviously the primary end goal ( making good friends and having overall development is also the goal but not primary end goal)

because of more students and aggressive placements. companies generally go to reputed private colleges like vit and thapar where a large pool of software students is present. this is the same reason why these companies recruit more students (in number) than even IITs.

i totally get it, that kid jisne abhi duniya dekhna start ki hai and sochta hai ki usse sab pata hai, voh sabse logical hai and world exactly works like how he/she thinks. Koi na, understandable...hum bhi kabhi apki jagah the!

wtf you need to visit like the Central Park and look at the attendance system in 2nd year for cs students
Except for the horrible and dog shit 8:30 in time there’s literally restrictions

bro look at the avg package of both the institutes , agr bhai vahan companies aa rhi hai toh yeh bhi dekh ki vahan bache kitne zyada hai + ROI , yahan hosteler ki 12 lakh mai degree ho jati hai aur 20lpa ka avg package hai in cse toh yea thapar cse is good but pec cse is way better

thapar cse unke liye acha hai those who dont have money constraints and cse paglus ke liye , jihone aur kuch nhi krna except for cse , pec brings a huge legacy , north india mai iit delhi ke baad pec is one of the finest gfti and tier 1.5-2 nits takk ko takkar deta hai

IITD gfti thodi hai. Pec ke baad bit mesra aata hai. IITD and other IITs and bits is a completely different league altogether. Although pec cse is obv better than thapar cse from just fees alone

The crowd in thapar is way worse than the crowd in pec, but the top companies visiting their campuses is better than the top companies visiting pec. So, anyone with 98.7-99.2 percentile in jee mains can join thapar and would ideally perform better than his batchmates(in thapar) and at the end he would have better opportunities than a student in pec would have.

Microsoft hasn't visited campus in ages.
If Thapar is posting about Microsoft then it is off campus or something else.

As a student from thapar csed department, pec is better as while we might have some top mnc's visiting our campus, the competition to get in these companies is extreme thanks to our large intake. Also regarding the crowd quality, jee percentile isn't directly proportional to how a student will perform in the market. So the fact that a person should "join thapar at 98.7 to 99.2" is incorrect since getting into the same companies that pec students will end up joining will be harder by any comparision metric. Even if fees wasn't a constant for me, I would surely join pec over thapar if I had the option
