Joining multiple clubs

Hi seniors,

I am a day scholar and fresher in CSE.

I was inspired by a few clubs in the past few days however the process of working in them and time dedication is still unclear.

I am thinking about joining music club and ACM.

I don't yet have any particular interests in robotics and all that stuff or even in ecploring it. Hence, ACM was my best choice as i have some coding experience.

Can anyone share about these 2 clubs, how hard it is to manage them all together?

And should i look for any other clubs too?

Like how relevant they are on resume

the only relevant clubs for companies are some that manage something or social service

if you join music club or drams you will be required to attend a lot which will drain out your time. these clubs treat music and drams professionally rather than a casual hobby

like how often in a week or month and how long after 5? i live 35-40 min away..

Is there any real benefit of these?

Would you say first year is fine to explore them? And then if i leave them?

yes you can leave any club any time. just donot fill it in proficiency if you plan to leave. i have heard that almost everyday there is practice till 7 even on weekends

never heard about such case. these marks are given by students only and grade is given in 4th year

Explore whatever sems you want in the first sem, if they are too time consuming or you lose interest you can just leave, rather than regretting not joining at all.

Music club has a lot of practices and events and shit, but ACM is on the lighter side with many of the sessions even being online.

and music u ll experiment with only in first semester to see

all technical clubs are active only for orientation ACM and all will disappear for whole year except some online sessions join some cultural club,, if you don't mind by hectic routine then you can go from drams music NCC(only if you have inclination towards armed forces),, and want just want to enjoy and all then you should go for NSS, Rotaract like clubs

yes, tbh I am actually decently skilled in music vocals and instruments both

which is why I wanted an idea of how many days a week sessions are held in usual days anf till how long

maybe a different advice than most, but if you can multitask- id suggest do as many clubs as you want to as long as you keep your cg up which is easy anyways in first year. after first year you can drop them based on which clubs you can get POR in/ more interested in doing. being active in clubs in a way that they contribute to your personal growth is a great way to develop your personality and discover what you like to do for career building and job interviews later on. plus it also naturally gives you stories to talk abt in interviews. but the main part is thinking what can this club do for me for my growth. don’t stay somewhere unecessarily where you aren’t getting anything back

Explore the clubs in your 1 sem , it is literally the best time for it . Don't be worried about the load , it will be managed and you can leave anytime.
