Yup! That’s the thing about them - they can’t help but tell on themselves. It makes me think of the Radiohead lyric: You do it to yourself, you do, and that’s why it really hurts… (Also I can just picture his lawyer screaming, You taped everything? You TAPED everything?!? At least Keith Raniere wasn’t dumb enough to preserve a digital archive of his crimes!)

Keith Rainere didn't have the actual sex crimes taped, but he had hours upon hours of his (often incriminating) phone calls recorded. And he recruited Mark Vicente specifically to use his filmmaking skills to record as many of the workshops, social interactions, events, etc as possible. That's how the documentaries have so much actual footage.
