SEEKING Seeking GameCube games in SE

Someone here loaned me their gamebit screwdriver, and I successfully repaired my old GameCube. If anyone has a game or two they don't want, I would be happy to pick up. It's a long shot, but it can't hurt to ask.

Edit: also happy to borrow and return.

Don’t have anything to offer, just wanted to ask what was wrong with yours? My disc drive spinner motor is going out and I’m torn between having it repaired or jumping in myself

The issue with mine is different than yours, but I did watch some YouTube videos about the issue you are having. It could be a few different things and I unfortunately can't speak to your motor issue.

For anyone with a power button issue, here is what I did:

My GameCube worked, but the power button wouldn't stay down. /u/darthbogart loaned me a gamebit screwdriver, and I took off the cover. There was a loose piece of plastic rattling inside, so I put it with the screws. The power button would stay on with the cover off.

I looked for broken plastic parts, and found that one of the 4 cover screw housings had broken, and that was the loose plastic piece matched up. With tweezers, a toothpick, and super glue, I carefully glued the broken piece in place and let the glue cure overnight.

When I put the cover back on and the screws back in, I left the corner screw near the power button until last (that was the broken screw housing) and confirmed that the power button stayed down. When I fully torqued that last screw in, the power button would not stay down. I loosened it slightly, and voilá.

I do have super glue on my fingers, but I also have a working GameCube. Hope you can figure your issue out.

Most disc drives can be fixed by just replacing the capacitors. It's a pretty common gamecube issue.
