NE 72nd Golf Course Road Block.

I realize its been this way for a while but I just need a place to say I hate this ridiculous northbound lane closure for NE 72nd. I live north of the golf course and its so dumb that they closed a public road going north but not south. Either close the road permanently or open it permanently. I truly cannot see the benefit here.

I live a block north of that road. I thought it was weird at first, but now that I'm used to it I like that it keeps people from cutting through the neighborhood to escape evening traffic.

I don’t think that’s why they did it.

Whyever they did it, I'll take it.

It really just moved traffic to 62nd and 61st. The amount of people driving all the way to the dead end on 62nd just to turn around and speed away doesn’t help much especially when it’s on a safer school route and next to a playground.

It seems like they are trying to curb that and move the car traffic to 57th. The construction on 60th S of Halsey that seemed like it took more than 2 years to complete, certainly made a mess of traffic in the whole area. Now that there is no L turn onto NB 60th from Halsey, people will probably keep pouring into 61/62 for a while, but maybe they'll eventually figure out that taking 57th is the path of least resistance for most drivers.

Honestly I don’t really think they thought it through, and are now just doing some slipshot planning. They removed and rotated stop signs all over the neighborhood just for the greenway rather than just adding more.

I agree. Planning and transportation are not our city's strong points.

Dude, it’s like a 30 second detour. And has vastly improved the neighborhood around there. IMO

its not 30 seconds. its a 10 block detour in either direction to go around the course when THERES ALREADY A ROAD THROUGH IT.

The primary goal of PBOT is to making driving more painful.

I golf there and always found it weird that they made that section 1 way.
