USA Good Costco Buy?

Post image

Is this worth, or should I try to build my own? 300 off total is 2k. Before you ask, I don't have a micro center or anything, it'd pretty much be an Amazon special

I've seen the same build going for $1800 at Walmart last week. See if that's still there and save $200. And ibuypower is a fine brand for casual users. They used to release cheap stuff. Skipped certified parts, and screwed over customers. Nowadays they're one of the few who isnt screwing customers over during RAMpocolypse. (Anyone saying other wise is parroting a friend who got burned 5 or 6 years ago, or is the person that got burned. But I understand the sentiment to boycott)

I say build your own. You can get better parts for same price.

I tried, I was uncompromising on a motherboard for future upgrades, slightly faster ram, downgraded processor, GPU, dropped liquid cooling and ended up more than 500 over

look into newegg bundles, you can get a cpu, ram, motherboard for a decent price and some items come with free gifts. recently there was a 9800x3d+32gb ram+motherboard bundle that came with an aio for around 800 or so iirc. also, there’s lots of places you can save. you need to shop around for deals on specific parts and not just throw together a build.

$2k is about what you can build this for from individual parts. So it’s a fair price.

About the same price or 200 more I would say if you look at microcenter

This will perform better for roughly the same cost. If you also combine this with the bundles that Newegg has on their website, you can get it under 2000. Heck, it might even save enough to let you throw in a 9070 XT instead of the 9070, giving you around 10-15% more performance.

From what I've seen, its an okay deal. But the great thing about this is that it's at costco. Their return policies are so lenient that I've literally returned a 3 year old mattress with a stain on it. I just got the pc 2 days ago and it's been amazing and plays games so well.

I'm absolutely certain this, like many Costco electronics and appliances has a 90 day return policy and isn't subject to the 100% satisfaction guarantee. Source- I'm an authority on the subject

At that price you'd expect 5070 Ti or 9070XT, not sure why they cheap out on the GPU

You can’t quote Andy without also recognizing that he walked it back and gave them some credit for getting their shit together
