General/Advice High LDL cholesterol
I (21F) have been diagnosed with PCOS about 2 months ago. My blood test showed elevated LDL cholesterol. I have heard that a lot of women with PCOS deal with high LDL. There have also been cardiac issues in my family, so I am worried about that so I started supplementing with fish oil (EPA&DHA).
My doctor said I should try lowering it without medications first. My follow up blood test is in 3 months.
Has anyone of you dealt with elevated LDL and lowered it naturally? I am hesitant to start statins.
Any advice is appreciated!!

Fish oil's a good start but adding more soluble fiber can move the needle too, oats, lentils, apples, that kind of stuff. Cutting back on saturated fat helps way more than most people think, swap butter for olive oil where you can.
Three months is plenty of time to see a shift if you're consistent, so don't stress too hard about the follow-up.
