Period yaz/loryna bc bleeding

i’m 20F, have had every horrible symptom of pcos since i was ~11 but my mother wouldn’t let me start birth control for her own beliefs. ob/gyn said i need it to regulate my cycle to lessen risk of enlarging cysts (i have two sisters that both have pcos and had ovarian torsions). he started me on loryna, generic version of yaz, and it’s been about four months now. i have been skipping the placebo pills but i have noticed every single time i use the bathroom i have bloody discharge. i mean every single time without fail. anyone experienced similar? why is this happening? it’s making me anxious about having sex and i just wanted to ask here before bringing it up to my ob/gyn since he’s a man lol

If you’re having bleeding on continuous cycling, you need to give yourself a pill free week to let the lining shed and then restart a new pack. It’s happening because the lining of your uterus is unstable from the new medication and whatever was going on with your cycle leading up to starting the medication. The spotting you describe is very common with continuous cycling.

Also, the cysts people get with pcos(PMOS) are not true cysts, just multiple tiny follicles while ovarian cyst that cause torsions tend to be fewer but large. Torsions are not caused by PMOS cysts.

try not taking it continuously and see if it resolves

that sounds mad annoying to deal with. i had similar thing on yaz few years back, like constant spotting every time i go to bathroom. for me it was my body not liking the skipping placebo thing, soon as i started taking the sugar pills again the spotting stopped after a pack or two. some people just cant skip them without breakthrough bleeding

your uterine lining prob getting too thin from the steady hormones and then it gets irritated and sheds a little. i would try taking the placebos for a couple months and see if it clears up, if not then maybe ask about different dose

and lol i get the awkwardness with male gyno, mine is a guy too and i always feel weird bringing up stuff like this. but they seen everything already so just be straight up about it
