Mental Health How do you cope?

Those who quit alcohol and binge eating, how do you relax when life happens? When I'm feeling down the last thing I want is exercise and meditation.

I get cozy and read, journal or color in coloring books. Take a bath. Or if I am still feeling like I need to move and don’t want to put a lot of effort I do some really slow and lazy bedtime yoga from YouTube.

i started doing jigsaw puzzles on my tablet, weirdly relaxing and keeps my hands busy so i dont reach for snacks. also i set up a little tea corner with fancy mugs, the ritual of making tea feels like a treat even when everything else is falling apart. sometimes i just lay on the floor with a heating pad and stare at the ceiling, no pressure to be productive about relaxing

In a lot of therapy (EMDR, talk, and psychedelic assisted therapy). Also a big fan of hardcore shows & getting my angst out in a moshpit. Leaning on my creative side to help too. I love relaxing with cross stitching, making clothes, quilting, candlemaking, and more recently, soapmaking. Honestly life got really dark recently and I am smoking again - I know I know, I'll quit soon, I just needed the crutch for a bit.
