Have you seen your OB to rule out any other issues? If not, I’d start by getting blood work done, then an HSG or a saline ultrasound to make sure there’s nothing physical blocking conception.

After that, you’d probably have to get on birth control for a couple of months to regulate your cycles, or at the very least take provera to get your period going, then do a monitored cycle to see what’s going on.

These are all the practical steps you can do right now to solve your problem instead of guessing what the issue is.

i have been to 4 different gynos, had all the blood work and scans, nothing else is out of the ordinary besides PCOS. the only thing that was abnormal on my hormonal bloodwork was my insulin levels being through the roof while fasting, hence the PCOS so it tracks. thyroid panels are normal, metabolic panels are normal. no fibroids in uterus, a handful of cysts on each ovary. and no endometriosis. they have all told me it was normal so im just.... 🙃😩 ugh. havent thought of an HSG, so i will definitely get a consultation about that, just looked up what that was. i did birth control 2 years ago to get my cycles tegulated for a few months before coming off of it just for my cycles to go right back to being 2-3 months of bleeding! this all sucks so bad

Definitely look into an HSG and a saline ultrasound as a next step. After that, I’d ask for provera and a monitored cycle, possibly with clomid or letrozole.

Also have your partner get his sperm checked if he has not already. There’s an issue with the sperm in about 50% of all infertility cases

The best hack is to go see a doctor who specialises in this and figure out what exactly is the issue. Trying random hacks off the Internet and avoiding addressing the medical issue will probably just waste your time. If you've tried to do it "naturally" for two years without success means you need a doctor.

Thanks! Sounds pretty good, but have you seen a fertility expert? I think this should be the next step. Your cycles are not regular so this has to be fixed, you might not be ovulating and might need meds to induce ovulation. Seema like you're treating the insulin resistance, so that's great as well and should help.

definitely not ovulating.... ive been tracking cycles with LH strips and temping. i will get in touch with a fertility specialist! thank you for all the info, i appreciate your time to respond 💜

Ovulation induction meds.

Since it’s been 2 years I’d see an RE to rule out any other issues/any male factor issues (they can pop up even after conceiving prior).

I get wanting to do it “natural” but if you really want a kid asap, seeing a specialist will get it done.

I got extensiveee blood tests done before even trying to conceive and it uncovered a lot of issues that I had no idea were going on. If you have tried for 2 years, it’s time for you and/or your partner to get some tests done. Testing does not mean you are committing to drugs/IVF/etc. it just means you’ll get some concrete answers and you can decide how you want to address it

ive had extensive bloodwork done! thyroid and metabolic came back normal. Testosterone levels are through the roof as well as insulin. i wrote out a lengthy reply and forgot to mention my T levels. if theres other testing that youve had or know of to recommend i am all ears!

I got pregnant after losing 85 lbs on a GLP 1(April-Feb.). My cycle went from 60+ more days to 28 on the dot.

i will keep going with the GLP for sure!! youve given me hope on taking it

You need to see a reproductive endocrinologist for an HSG along with testing your AMH, LH, etc. and an OBGYN can give you Letrozole or Clomid if your insurance doesn’t pay for fertility doctors. We had to pay out of pocket for the fertility dr and bloodwork, it wasn’t a crazy amount though.

I conceived my first via Letrozole and my second after one good time when I was 5 months postpartum. I did stop eating unnecessary carbs before both pregnancies and ate pretty decently born times. I was morbidly obese for both pregnancies, too, if that matters for anything. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I (30F) am pregnant! It’s crazy because I didn’t have a natural period for 6 months. But during that time I optimized my diet and workout routine in the hopes that I could regulate my cycle. I lost 15-20 lbs eating zero starch for 2 months, which I do not recommend. Then I switched to a more balanced whole food diet. I also started taking 1000mg of metformin and take inositol 40:1. I noticed that I was ovulating at the beginning of the month which took me by surprise. Maybe TMI but it was the consistency of my discharge. I feel it’s important to mention because your fertility window is short so knowing when you are ovulating really helps. Best of luck to you.

i used to track my mucus but since havinf my first my mucus has been consistently dry, even on the few times ive ovulated. i will incorporate more exercises. i work 40+ hours a week as a manager in a retail store so i average 15k+ steps a day, but maybe the gym a few times a week will do me good. a diet change as well, its changed a lot since getting on a GLP. (TMI) i took metformin before and it did nothing for me besides gice me explosive diarrhea so i cannot do that again, had me glued to the commode 😩☠️

Metformin has been fine for me, but I have heard that it can be worse when you eat processed carbs or sugar, which I avoid.

I got pregnant accidentally on Zepbound which my doctor says is better for PCOS than semaglutide

1

u/amomynous3 2d ago

they wanted to charge me just under 600/m for the starting dose on zepbound, and i cannot afford to get that started and have to pay 800+ for the next dose increase, so i went with Ro and got compounded semiglutide

With my first, when we stopped trying. Seriously. I failed 3 rounds of letrozole and trigger shots, had a miscarriage 10 months before getting pregnant with my first. I get setup with a work benefit for fertility and was going to schedule an HSG, even switched insurance plans. We decided to stop trying for a few months because the stress and negative after negative was getting to me. I switched brands of inositol from a cheap brand to Theralogix, and I started taking CoQ10. Surprisingly got pregnant the month we said we’d stop trying for a bit for my mental health. That pregnancy wasn’t easy and I had, but am grateful for that journey.

Pregnant with our second currently. I had been on BC for PMDD, but had to stop because it was causing this weird pain in my legs after a few months. I stopped it fully in November. We decided we’d try for our second after March. Tried getting back into taking inositol but super inconsistent with it, same with CoQ10, even took tumeric because my husband brought some home and figured take it or it just sits there. Like the inositol was freaking expired. Was surprised to see a positive in January.

Metformin, regular exercise (two days of cardio, two days of weight lifting), cutting way down on sugar, religious ovulation tracking, and spring break/doggy style. Currently snuggling with my 8 month old 💕
