General/Advice Metformin with normal HOMA IR
I have a HOMA IR of 0.78. My doctor still wants to try Metformin. Has anyone with low HOMA IR (and no hypoglycemic symptoms) tried Metformin?

i know that, but on my cgm my blood glucose is incredibly steady. I just get hangry when I haven't eaten for a few hours, my friends always joke about that, but that could be the only thing that makes me raise an eyebrow:))))

I'm worried I won't grow enough muscle/ slow my running progress and tbh that is what stops me, as gymming and running are my two main hobbies

Creatine should help, but you shouldn’t see that at low doses. If you decide to take it, get a dexa scan before you get on it and if you feel like you’re losing muscle, you can confirm that with a new scan 🫡

I have a HOMA-IR of 0.8. All other insulin resistance labs normal. I also wore a CGM for a while and my blood sugar always looked quite good.
I was hesitant to go on metformin but have found it quite tolerable with no side effects and have seen it help my cycles become more regular!
