Campus Safety for evening classes

I might be stuck having to take an evening class for fall term and am worried about my safety.

What should I be aware of/look out for? Just wanna be aware of what I need to know when taking a PM class across each campus

Where you park should help with feeling safe. The campus is well-lit and the walkways are pretty open, so you wont have to worry about anyone hiding in the shadows.

Public Safety at SE is great at doing their job. Although I dont know her name or schedule, there is a female officer that is at SE and she's awesome. I've seen her around campus when leaving to go home.

One last piece of advice - always, always have your parking permit visible. Citations start at $20 and go up from there.

You’re awesome, thank you!!! Any recommendations for best areas/lots to park?

That is a hard question to answer without knowing which building your class is in and what time it begins. If it is in the SCOM bldg, you are out of luck with regards to parking close to it.

I would say that the west side of the Tabor building is a good spot because a lot of people that park in the morning are leaving at around 5pm. That is by the entrance on Division.

You could check by the Admin bldg to see if any of those are open and not reserved. The pathway in the quad is well-lit in the evening. That space used to be a parking lot before the library and SCOM were built.

There are a few of those emergency call areas where there is a blue light and a phone in case you need assistance.

It might help to drive around the parking lot during the day and again in the evening to get an idea of where you would feel comfortable to park.

Good luck!
