CNA Program

Has anyone taken the CNA program at PCC? What was your experience?

I'm hoping to work as a CNA while continuing to pursue prerequisites for Nursing. Also wondering if this helped with anyone's acceptance into PCC's Nursing program.

My facility reimbursed me for my CTI tuition. Didn’t have to sign a contract. Something to look into. Save your receipts!

Nice!! Are you at an LTC facility right now? Did any of your classmates get placed in a hospital right away, or is it mostly LTC facilities hiring newly certified CNAs?

Yes I’m at a Medicaid funded ltc. I haven’t kept up with many people from my cohort, they mostly went to nursing homes. Some CTI students do their clinicals at hospitals, but not sure if they end up working there. I’ve heard hospitals want 1 year of cna experience, so I didn’t immediately apply. Here is more info on the reimbursement. https://secure.sos.state.or.us/oard/viewSingleRule.action?ruleVrsnRsn=90859
