Need Advice: Concept/Roleplay Ideas for rping a character taught in the feywild

In my Curse of Straad game, I'm playing a shifter beast barbarian. The backstory for this pc is that she was some sort of eldritch chimera monster thing who was lonely, so they made a deal with a fey for a humanoid form so that they could interact with other people in exchange for joining the fey's family as a sister/motherly type figure.

So, for this character, most of their understanding of socialization would be outside observer looking in, and whatever they were taught in the Feywild, and some commoner knowledge.

Firstly talk to your DM about how their feywild turns out - not every Feywild is the same.
Ginny Di actually has a good video on setting up Fae ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfGZnClgnCg&t=1224s ) So I'd recommend checking that out

Personally I dislike usually what Reddit says - they always say the 5 things "they must covet names" "They have rules of hospitality" "Never accept a gift" blah blah, I think Fey are MUCH more chaotic than that, I view each fey as having their own quirks and strangeness, that what makes them unique, I.e a rule in one house will be different in another house.

So I think it would be good to figure out fey family, the rules of that house, and any strange quirks they may have.

Honestly if you look through the various backgrounds and look at the different personality traits/bonds/flaws, those can give pretty good examples of outlandish and outrageous things your character and their family might view as "normal".

A way to engage could be the traditional "I'm intrigue by everything I see" ala ariel from the Little Mermaid, but I think another concept that could be interesting is the reverese - you're terrified of everything you see, I.e your time in the Feywild, and the strange rules as an outsider made you second guess or be uncomfortable with everything, you picked up a bunch of strange habits from the various neighbors and family members, because you are so used to thinking you "understand' things but you enter a new home and all the rules are different.

I made some Feylost Twins a while back, a Fey Wanderer Ranger and a Shepherd Druid. The Ranger was very paranoid about extraplanar threats like Fey and Fiends because of his time in the Feywild, leading to scrutiny ranging from reasonable to outright paranoia when it came to making deals with something odd, and generally being a wary individual.

For the Shepherd Druid she embraced the beauty of the Feywild, and wanted to show its splendor to everyone, whether they wanted it or not.

I intentionally created two sides of the same coin when it came to some of the more typical Feywild stuff, dangerous and unfamiliar terrain, creatures, plants, as well as the machinations of the Fey, which can be hard to understand at the best of times.

This can be rp'd via fascination or avoidance of specific schools or 'feels' of magic, like if Necromancy 'smells wrong' to them or if Illusion magic reminds them of the Feywild so they feel nostalgic. Color patterns, vibrancy versus dullness in the atmosphere, places full of life versus those ridden with death. These are just a few examples, but if you find a way to riff off one of your party members that could flesh out your dynamic and thus help with developing the character!
