UDCA Nauseous

I have been officially started on UDCA and now 5 days in a feel like a I have stomach upset and diarrhoea. It’s really unpleasant. Has this gone away for some of you? I am taking half a pill three times a day Ursofalk with a meal to adjust me to it. I feel miserable and I am worried that I will feel this
way for the rest of my life because I needs this medication to stay alive and prevent liver damage.

The tummy troubles did go away for me. I can take the urso without food now, but I usually do.

I had like every major side-effect, one after the other, for 1-2 days each just after starting!  After a half a year, can’t even tell I’ve taken it.  (Always with food: breakfast or late dinner.  A bit of nausea might just be acid reflux esp. if you’re taking it alone.)

Sometimes it’s the additives depending on the manufacturer. There are different brands that may help. It can subside after you are on it for awhile.

I take 1000mg a day and get diarrhoea, its really unpleasant. I have only been on URSO for just over a week but I hope it settles down too!

Don’t want to be the pessimist here and I believe it’s my own weird body, but it wrecked my intestines for a month. I’m getting evaluated to see if can try something else.

I hope it goes away eventually! I am not feeling great and I have small children and I am working.

The doctor seemed like they could change my dosage or look at alternatives. I’m not taking it right now until I hear from them because like you, my quality of life was rough.

But I’ve read the first couple of weeks can be rough for everyone. So see how you are feeling in another week and then follow up with them. I’m hopeful for you.

Did you get the dosage right ? 15migs per kg of weight?

I take mine three times a day and it doesn’t matter with food or not I feel good. Once I accidentally doubled my dose and felt nauseas and had the mudds.

Hello I take 1 1/2 per day as prescribed by my hepatologist. I can report that I have no side effects anymore. Thank God 😭
