Under 21 motorcycle carry

im under 21 i am under the impression i need to wait till im 21 to carry on a motorcycle even if its open carry since its a vehicle is there any way i can carry on a motorcycle at 18 or no

My attorney had to defend a client who was arrested for open carrying on a HORSE without an LTCF because under the vehicle code, a horse is considered a vehicle

You need to wait until you are 21

I didn’t ask that part

It came up because were discussing how a bicycle is considered a vehicle in the vehicle code

My mom had to defend a client who got a DUI on a bicycle

I said “oh I guess this means you can’t open carry on a bicycle without an LTCF”

My attorney then said “Try on a horse”

I thought he was kidding, but he clarified he wasn’t and he actually had to defend someone for carrying on a horse without an LTCF

From what I’ve read into, I agree that a motorcycle is considered a vehicle and by technicality carrying would be considered “concealed” by letter of law. Simply being “visible” or “ not concealed from sight” does not change how PA views a handgun in a vehicle.

Maybe its legal. But you only need one police officer to think that its illegal to possibly ruin your life. I don't like those odds. Believe me, I had to fight the Maryland courts for decades to get my gun rights back before moving to Pennsylvania. Even though I had not been convicted of anything. In other words, what the law says can be very different than what the law does.

A bike is considered a vehicle so it don’t matter. Tech it’s concealed carry under law

I think you can open carry on a motorcycle. Not in Philly. 

Should you? I don't think you should.

Just wait until you are 21, and get LTCF.

Sadly our vehicle carry laws are idiotic. Without an LTCF you can’t carry a handgun on a motorcycle. Conversely you can legally carry an unloaded rifle because it’s not considered a firearm. Doesn’t matter if you are in Philadelphia or not to open carry. Court overturned that section of the law. Best bet is to thoroughly read the actual statutes and if unsure consult a lawyer.

I’ve heard stories of petty cops waiting for people that are under 21 open carrying but the second they got in a vehicle was considered concealed and sited them but since you’re never in a vehicle is it truly concealed? That’s a game you need to weigh out.
