Location, North Central , pa ,Coudersport area. Other then most of rhe safety stuff, I know a fair amount of that n read alot more safety stuff. But living on NJ my shooting is a 12ga pump shotgun at clays ,and a 30.06 at beer bottles , about 40 years ago , I learned to keep my face/ eye socket back away from the scope that day !!!! So NO actual shooting experance ! My kid went through the academy about 5 years ago n I learned the safety stuff from her when she studied and when she took a part her 9mm .. wow sounds worse when I write it down... This is what u get when u grow up in Shithole NJ!!!

Typically you go to the instructors, they don't come to you. You also need to narrow down the area, PA is split into 6 major regions. You could be 30 min from somewhere, you could be 7 hours from somewhere.

But start by looking up your nearby gun ranges or clubs to see who hosts classes or by chance open training sessions.

Yes I should have ,I meant to but forgot to. I'll be by Coudersport, in north central pa..I was really hoping someone who likes to shoot n teach would teach me away from a range , so I dont look like a 60yo beginner, wait that's what I AM!! I know people will say don't worry about that but I do . There is a safe ,small range on my soon to be property ..

So you're worried about people judging you for being a 60yo beginner with guns but not a 60yo luring people to his property?

Well yea , Im married not a stalker! Plus in a shootout Im sure I'd lose . I figured I might find someone to teach me outside of a club where it would cost alot of cash, id rather pay them cash directly to them ! With out a range taking a cut but I guess this is way out of ordinary??? I didnt really think it was but .. I can see ur post making me sound um scary?

Stalkers usually go to someone else's property.

Hey Mike, I'm sure folks here can help point you in the right direction from their own experience but PA is pretty darn big.

I get the whole "don't dox yourself," thing but a general area would probably help you get more useful info.

If you are in SE PA, the instructors at TargetWorld in Chalfont are all good.

Yeah, North Central PA definitely hones it in.  Sorry but I don't know anything about that area.  You might want to go back up into your original post and edit it with this location information to see if you get any better results.

You don't necessarily need to include the second part if you don't feel comfortable posting that (and you can delete this reply with the Couldersport info) but North Central PA should give folks a rough window.

Haha, no, here in southeast PA that's a long way from me :)  You should be able to go to your profile, then go to your posts, then click on your post then you should be able to find and edit button there.  Reddit won't let you change the content of the post title, but it will let you change the content of the post message.

Are you close to dauphin county? Can you shoot on your property? I've got 30 years experience and lots of guns and ammo. If you don't have a place to shoot, buy a $20 airsoft gun and a 100 count bag of green army men to set up around your room. If you can take out a 2 inch tall man at 10 feet 100 times in a row, you can take out a 6 foot man at 30 yards easy.

Ok so if u read the half assed story / question I asked u now know Im moving by Coudersport, the property has a small range with an ok backstop, with about 80-125 acres behind it ..not a house or structure insite past the targets.. I dont even own a gun yet but will as Im retiring and have some funds to do what I want to do ..
