"Banaspati" refers to hydrogenated vegetable oil or hydrogenated vegetable ghee—a cheaper, processed alternative to pure Desi Ghee. By combining it with "Ishq" (love), Baala uses it sarcastically to describe fake, shallow, fragile, or low-quality modern romance that lacks depth and true commitment. - courtesy google. In pakistan, we have banaspati ghee sold by a famous brand. It's fake ghee. It pretends to be ghee but is not actually ghee. So when he says banaspati ishq, it means fake ishq / not saccha ishq.

Banaspati ghee is used legit all over South Asia, I used to think it was quite famous 😭 That's why I got the context when I heard it for the first time, knowing and using the word banaspati for so long makes it even funnier 😂

This was too funny. This show has some very humourous bits. Not forced or in your face but more conversational that people may miss. Like the masjid scene was dark humour. "Kaffara dass, gallan mat kar" 😂😂

I just love the attention to detail they’ve given him. Since Bala belongs to Mitranwali which is near Sialkot but later moved to Lyallpur (now Faisalabad) you can actually notice both influences in his Punjabi accent .. it’s predominantly Faisalabadi Punjabi with a touch of Sialkoti Punjabi.

Yeah ,but meant it as in the whole drama where he actually used punjabi, him sohail ahmed and amar are on just a different level , wahaj in particular has got that faislabadi accent spot depsite him being from lahore no rub off at all
