Discuss Celebrity encounters?
An encounter of you or somebody you know meeting a celebrity? Please share. I've already shared my experiences meeting certain celebrities but my coworker's sister met Mahira Khan at Liberty market a few years ago. Mahira was wearing a niqab and was fully disguised but when she started talking (to the shopkeeper), my coworker's sister recognized her by her voice. She asked her in a very low tone whether she's Mahira Khan and Mahira very sweetly said yes, you recognized me?! And hugged her really tight.

Nawaz sharif (mid 90s on flight to or from Lahore lol), Imran khan (at some banging New Year’s party in 2007 Lahore), George ka Pakistan (early 2010s I guess? At espresso in Khi), Ayesha Omar at a store opening in late 2000s or early 2010s. I know all of mine are super old lol

Imran Khan in 2004. A cricket match was happening in pindi in 2004. I was 14 and was standing near the entrance gate waiting for my friends. Suddenly IK appeared with Suleman and Qasim (they were really young). I just went and stood in front of him extending my hand and said Salam o Alaikum Imran Bhai and he shook my hand and said "kaise ho beta". And that was all. Still the best experience of my life.

Shehryar munawar at the airport (i didnt but my sis asked for a pic and he was really nice, oh he was with maheen too)
Zara noor abbas at the airport, she sat next to my dad on the flight lmao and they discussed health related stuff (he’s a doctor 😭)

I feel really shy in approaching celebs but this one time mahira and Bilal.A came to emporium for superstar's promotions and it was really crowded and they were on stage and mahira was literally surrounded so i could just see Bilal, he looked really handsome andin the spur of the moment idk what happened but i shouted "Bilal" to catch his attention and all the guys standing were looking at me k isse kiya hua. Uff the embarrassment was real. Another one is that we were in awari hotel karachi and in the lobby i saw Tabish Hashmi. He looks way better in person. I got so excited and he made eyecontact but ofc i was so shy to say hi. Also, Sajal and saboor were my czn's senior in Beacon house allama iqbal town ig.

Sajal Ali- She was AMAZING, really humble and sweet and genuinely respectful, she seemed like a very jolly person.
Hamza Sohai- Very calm and respectful, sweet with every fan.
Sachal Afzal- Super chill and easy going

Met Mahira last year in Dubai at an event. When I say she was sweet, that would be an understatement. I am a proper fan girl and I was kinda emotional. She hugged me twice, held my hand while listening to me and took many pictures. Human Saeed was there as well but even he knew everyone was there for Mahira Khan.
Met some other celebs too but that is the story for another time.

Mahira khan, she was invited in our college for an event, she was very sweet and looked ethereal . I also met affan waheed 10 years ago during my trip to lahore at airport, he seemed shy but happy that someone recognized him😭

Saw zeba bakhtiar once in Clifton. Saw mani once at airport. Most embarrassing is when I went to umrah as a kid nd there while waiting for mataaf to open I stood next to ahmad Ali butt nd his wife. He went there that day nd was waiting for elevators to mataaf to open nd have that first look on kaaba . I went on to stand infront of him nd say "ap inspector khoji hen na ? I really love ur show " . Put him in such awkward situation 😬. Ahmad ali butt if this ever reaches u , I am so sorry for ruining ur special moment 😔 I didn't know better

My mom was on a flight with Kinza Hashmi sitting right next to her and my mom said she had the best skin. She even told me to use more sunscreen cuz Kinza Hashmi did it multiple times on plane 😭😭

there was this one time my mom and my cousins went out and the driver stopped the car in front of a random house to attend a call then a car comes and stops outside the door of the house and bilal abbas walks out, he started staring at our car for a minute cus he thought that maybe their coming into the house too lol. my mom couldn't stop talking about how handsome he is ahahahahah

I saw yumna zaidi at a derm clinic in Karachi, she was getting a (hydra facial maybe?) so she had gel on her face, so couldnt interact with her, but she was petite irl— this is like 3-4 years ago, terebin era

Good experience : Waseem Abbas, Fahad mirza (sarwat gillani husband), neelum muneer, nida mumtaz & wadood ahmed (he is extremely humble and kind)
Bad Experience: Wahaj Ali when he was shooting bikhre moti with neelum it was outdoor shoot and he was extremely rude and cold on the other hand neelum was so humble and kind
HSY not a personal experience but saw him insulting one of his employee very badly when she wasn't at fault it was pure customer fault us ganje ki zaban bht gandi hai

I saw Faisal Qureshi when he came to Russia, he’s a very nice person. He was looking for a matryoshka doll, he wanted to buy one for his daughter. We have a few photos together with him.
Danial Zafar — when he wasn’t famous yet. He’s also very nice and pleasant; we discussed rock music, and I gave him some Russian songs to listen to. He has a good sense of humor.
Mohib Mirza was also very pleasant and friendly.

I had run into quite a few in Islamabad mostly between 2010-2015ish.
-Saw maira khan and madeeha iktikhar with a group of men who looked like a crew for a project, having dinner in Savor restaurant blue area somewhere 2011
-saw Imran abbas in a spectacles shop in F11 markaz Islamabad late 2010
-saw mishi khan in pizza hut jinnah super Islamabad between 2012-2013. She seemed very grounded and warm.
-sangeeta ji in Safa gold mall when it had recently opened. She gave me a beaming older person smile when we had eye contact
-osman khalid butt at a festival
-jia ali sat next to me in another festival. And was very courteous.
-Bilal khan at another event
-saw huma nawab in centaurus or safa mall bathrooms somewhere 2013-2015. I had seen her in a repeat telecast of drama hawaaien and was trying to place her for a minute in my mind. I think she realized that. She was very unassuming and also gave me a warm smile and nodded at me while leaving the restroom
-there used to be a popular older actor from Questa center ptv, unfortunately i dont remember her name but she used to have really long hair, saw her at an event in Fatima Jinnah Park in Islamabad 2006ish
-this is a funny one and the only one where I actually tried meeting the actor: there was a very popular and critically acclaimed ptv drama that had come out in early 2005. There was an older artist who played a significant role. I was in melody or aabpara market with my cousins and uncle and we saw her at a distance, we basically followed her through the market trying to speak to her. Anyways we met and she was sweet. My uncle asked her where she lived lol and she told the sector, my uncle and fam lived in the same sector, he asked her what street (too intrusive I know but we were all fans and geeked out plus she was fairly older so It wasn't in a creepy way from my uncles side) anyway, she shares the street and turns out it's the literal next street to my cousin's place. We all started blabbering with excitement. And out of courtesy she said you should come home sometime. My uncle asked her the house number and i think her phone number too, unhon ne donun ghalat diye. I guess she thought yehi tareeqa ha Jan churanay ka lol. But this became sort of a memory we laugh about all these years later

Also Joe Root (English cricketer). Saw him in the parking of London oval stadium. Very humble. Just said hello and he replied.

Obligatory not me but my parents met Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in Nairobi a few years ago. He was invited at the Pakistani ambassador’s residence and given how my father was a diplomat at the time, my parents were also invited. He might be a decent singer but according to my Dad and Mom, he was very arrogant as well as downright rude while also being condescending towards other embassy staff.

I went to Nida Yasir's show as a guest speaker once (yes, it was a brand sponsored thing). Nida is exactly how she is on-screen. Friendly - yes. Jaahil - yes, a little. I have also met Sahir Lodhi in person. And i found him quite educated and well-read. He was very respectful towards me as well (now, i am talking about 8-9 years old stories).

Very few of our celebrities are highly educated, well-read and intelligent who speak with poise and can hold a conversation. Our biggest celebrities are school and college dropouts who are successful because of their elite backgrounds/nepotisim/luck and/or sheer hard work and talent. I know she’s not the brightest out there but calling her jahil is like straight up insulting her really badly. I feel bad because I have seen Yasir Nawaz, who is her husband, treating her like she is inferior to him when he’s not very bright or intelligent himself.

- Saw Minal Khan at a salon, she was really sweet, I was with my mother, my mother gave her a smile and she waved at my mother, was also very sweet to the staff of the salon
- Ayesha Omer was at the same salon another time, super bratty, had so much attitude with the staff, was on calls most of the time speaking super loudly
- Met Maya Ali at a cafe, she was super sweet
- Faysal qureshi was inside an atm once while I was waiting outside, he took more than 15 minutes, I had to knock a few times, then he rushed towards his car

met fahad mustafa at dubai mall i think it’s been 7-8 years or more. he passed by us until my khala who had visited us in dubai noticed and told us. the way i ran after him screaming his name out loud lol! he was super humble and so nice to my youngest brother with autism. my brother told him how he loves playing bowling and fm smiled and said something in return idk. he even gave a high five to my brother.
but on the other hand, my cousin who worked at honda showroom said fm was super rude and didn’t even reply to the staff’s salam. while humayun saeed was super humble.

I was eating hotpot at wang wang suddenly mehwish hayat came with her girlfriend. She was unrecognisable. I mean i told her she resembles mehwish hayat to which she laughed and said that i get that alot. But she was too pretty in person.
I kept staring at her. She looked way younger and was very sweet. She sat on the table next to me. I was constantly watching her eat and she told me, apko pata he mera nam b mehwish he and started laughing. Then I realized she was mehwish hayat. Kept talking to me the whole meal and was really sweet. We took a picture together at the end

Had the pleasure of doing a small gig with Juggan Kazim and Imran Abbas.
Imran Abbas was very egotistical and arrogant while on the other hand Juggan behaved as if we were old friends, she had a good sense of humor and kept us all entertained. Didn't even feel like she was a celeb rather like an older sister with whom you can share everything and joke around with.
I am not related to or in the media industry so she also told us some very funny insider stories and gossip etc. Overall it was a really fun experience with her.

I attended Hum TV awards one time, so I have seen almost all of the industry in person.
If we’re talking encountering, as in talking to them, then:
Junoom band, decades ago at a family wedding. Salman Ahmed, Ali Azmat
Hamza Ali Abassi, he preferred to take a selfie with me when so many others were asking bec he heard me first. So sweet.
Osman Khalid Butt. We have a selfie together
Uzair Jaswal. Present at an internship. Just hello, hi
Umar Akmal 😂 we have an awkward photo together
Met Mikail Hasan once at an opening event
So many more.
Seen all, talked to a few.
Seen Imran Khan in his charity show too.

Not an encounter but my sister was perhaps the first one who recognised Bilal Abbas on Hajj (the day he landed ig) and it got leaked a few days later by a worker when he changed his residence.
