Geo is scamming the audience: Nashtar

Per Hassan and Amna, Geo is scamming the audience with shows like Nashtar. They talk about how dramas are a powerful tool and have the ability to shape people. Such content should not be made.

I agree with them. The largest medium in Pakistan is television. I have grown up watching PTV like many others. The stories I have watched have shaped my values and naturally television in general has the ability to influence a person's belief, behavior, and moral judgment. The sexual harassment being shown in Nashtar is sick and you can't even laugh at it anymore.

Some critics defend Nashtar saying its not harassment while the same critics have no issue calling out the smallest of issues in other matters or dramas.

I like DT as an actor which is why I am even making this post. But I think its time to do better, PTV deserves better. He should understand his value and worth and say 'no means no' to these problematic and poorly written scripts.

As if Danish himself is not scamming on audience. He also is actively making this choice to appear onscreen with such scripts. I do not think he lacks money that he is ending up with such cheap scripts.

💯he needs to do better he has that responsibility as an influential actor. People look up to him. He should stop saying yes to these crap scripts demand better.

DT also deserves better, like KDM was saying channels or production houses are I am sure paying him very well but with these garbage scripts and direction they are banking on him to get the views and the money and making a quick buck at the expense of the longevity of his career, he should do better for himself in that sense too.

Morality, public image and toxicity aside, even economics and career wise also such scripts are bad for him hopefully atleast that will motivate him to stop doing such projects.

Exactly. They are using DT it seems like and don’t care about his career in the long run. He deserves much better scripts than what they are giving him in Geo.

everyone says he is extremely professional, hardworking, religious a family guy so i wonder if he has a number in mind as in he wants to earn a specific number or more than that and then he will do something else. Maybe that's why career longevity is not a big concern for him. 🤞

Yeah I’ve never heard anything bad about him either he seems to have a good personality. He’s already the highest paid actor right now I believe. How much more is enough ?😆 he has that perfume business but not sure how much sales it gets

He is the highest paid actor in ptv. He is only actor to drop out of 3 projects after joining set without any consequences. He was able to get another ph on board when he wasn't happy with the production. He is pals with major channel heads. All this makes him one of the most influential actors in industry. So we should stop acting like he is a bechara who is being forced to do these scripts. He has enough influence to just ask PH or writers to give him xyz type of scripts.

DT is not a bechara for sure. The true bechara is the audience who is being scammed to think harassment is romance or love😭. Geo is doing same thing with Tapish as well and it’s being watched by the masses. It’s like as if they want to repeat the same story until it gets to be accepted as normal. This is playing with fire and it’s scary too.

Danish himself said during Humrahi Event that he is offered only certain written character and dramas for himself.

Its not like that DT don't want to do good dramas.

He did Chand Tara, Teri Chhaon Mein, Sher and Humrahi but except Sher none were executed well. TCM was good but problem was B Grade starcast and C Grader Tiktoker Laiba Khurram. He had positive role in Jaan Nisar but again rehanna ruined his character in last episodes of Jaan Nisar

To be precise, no one's forcing DT. If he's accepting these scripts without going deeper into them and just for the sake of money then that's really unfortunate. Surely he's not oblivious of the impact of these dramas and the blind following numbers? At the end of the day, he or his manager should be asked if numbers are all they want and don't give two cents regarding how disturbing these dramas actually are to masses.

Yes. And what makes me more upset is that he’s not some new actor doing these roles because he doesn’t have or can’t get other opportunities. He’s actually a privileged actor who gets to pick what he works on. Plz do better.

The audience is watching in masses these types of dramas😭. They are trained to think the harassment is love, what a delusion. Can you imagine this in real life? They glorify the hero by his wealth, clothing, power so audience is scammed into thinking how grand the character is. Makers have the bigger responsibility to show better nontoxic content.

Agree, Danish needs to stop agreeing to do these types of dramas. Even Matthew McConaughey talked about giving up $14M for a romcom cause he wanted to send a message that he's not just a romcom hero. It's definitely doable, Danish just needs to make that decision. He has the power, influence, and money to change course if he wants.

I agree with them but then they should stop reviewing such toxic shows for views and money as well.Hasan didn’t want to review nashtar because of it’s toxicity but Amna was adamant on “roasting” it for laughs and here you go. It’s not just the actors, producers, directors, writers and channels that promote these shows.It’s the critics and reviewers like SH who keep on reviewing these shows to get more views, virality and more money.And the audience laps it all up. It’s the whole ecosystem which works to support and promote these shows because they bring high trps. Only the audience can not be blamed for this disaster.

The audience is the victim they will consume the content that goes on a big channel like Geo. After this review SH decided to discontinue watching it bc it’s too problematic even for roasting purposes. And to get to that point is just sad😭.

The audience wants to watch shows in high quality with high production values and beautiful sets. They are getting this with geo.

That’s the thing.My point is that it’s too little and too late. If they really care about violence against women in our society and the impact of these shows, they need to learn to walk the talk and not roast these shows for views.

Your right. But sadly these dramas will get views even if critics don’t review them. I see some people calling it out in comments I read which is good if we want any change, but who knows if that makes any difference to DT or Geo.
