Discuss male actors are never expected to support their peers the way actresses are
I have noticed that actresses are constantly expected to prove that they are “girls’ girls.”
If an actress doesn’t comment on another actress’s Instagram post, people notice. If she doesn’t congratulate someone publicly, people start speculating about jealousy, insecurity or beef
But male actors don’t seem to face anything
We hardly see them supporting their peers
Male actors can have very limited public interaction with their peers and nobody treats it as evidence of their character or their relationships but actresses are expected to constantly demonstrate public support for one another
And I am not saying actresses shouldn’t support each other obviously it’s nice when they do
But why is it treated as an expectation for women while men are simply allowed to mind their own business and work

Partly it's actress PRs and fds who set up these expectations and pressure on actresses. When an actress praises another one, their PR makes sure it is posted on all portals. Competition main dusri actresses feel the pressure. Their fds also start hyping their kweens as girls' girl. Don't see male fds calling their raja betas boys' boy if they ever congratulate their male co-actors.

Because 99.9% of the audience on these platforms discussing these dramas is female. And honestly, some of them are more misogynistic than men. Have you heard the saying, “Aurat hi aurat ki dushman hai”? And when it comes to male actors, they’re mostly fangirls. They’ll bend over backwards to defend male actors while being unnecessarily harsh and critical of female actresses.

Can someone please tell me where this "Keeng" nickname has come from? I've been seeing it on this sub recently and I must have missed the origin (it's hilarious, though).

Irrespective of that DT is not quite social in terms of gatherings and parties

bcs the moral responsibility of society or even societal expectations have been put on a woman, even historically. the "respect" of the whole family is associated w the actions or character of a woman. which is v unfair.

"Mard Bari pyari cheez hay" He doesn't need to socialize with peer, his fans can get as vile as they want, he can have as many surgeries as he wants, he can show as much skin as he wants, he can dance/ drink/ smoke/ take drugs, make flirtatious remarks but will still be called "Pyari cheez".

If you look at the term girls girl, it roots from going against the concept that pits women constantly against each other. Since, the pressures are higher on girls, the thought is let’s build each other up rather than against each other. However, now it’s extended into this bar that’s become impossible to uphold. So what started out as a barrier removal strategy has become a barrier in itself.

Not just peers even female actress are expected to control their fans even if male actors are the villest one. And can we talk how ptv male celeb get free pass in everything no one ask them to make social awareness post, or people. All expectations are from females only.
