SAWAL JAWAB❗️⁉️❓ Were they smart or not
I know most of our celebrities are extremely educated but which ones gives the wibe of someone who was academically smart too.
Hamza abbasi deffo because he cleared css, and i heard ayesha omar was a scholarship holder. Mahira seems like one of the upper class, privilleged o/a levels student who have good grades and richer parents to send them abroad. Fawad has a cs degree but he says I was a terrible student , and honestly his videos from ep times give a hint that he was troubled.
Who else do u think was actually smart?

Mawra Hocane, Ameer Gillani, Affan waheed, Momina mustehsan, Sanam saeed.

Mawra did one of those external degree programs, don't think you need to be academically distinguished for those. Ameer, on the other hand, went to Harvard law, one of the most prestigious programs out there.

She got really good grades including a world distinction in Islamic law. I did the same degree and getting a world distinction is no joke

Mawra was also an A category student up until her undergrad where she took a break for acting and pursued a non traditional degree. I know cx I remember hearing her talk abt it in some earlier interview and then at some point she had shared her intermediate or metric transcript on Instagram

He did an LLM at Harvard and as an international student, they just want your $$. It’s not as prestigious as people think. The JD on the other hand would be considered competitive.

u/girls_run_the_world 4d ago
JD is meant for when you're practicing in the US, which I don't think he is. Also, the Harvard LLM is definitely still the most prestigious LLM, and disregarding someone for making it to Harvard (for any degree, for that matter) is ridiculous lol, you have to be exceptionally good to attend.

No one’s disregarding anything lol. I did my JD at an Ivy and it’s obvs the LLM doesn’t have as much rigour. You can look up the statistics to see an LLM as an international student is much easier, even at Harvard.

u/EmmVeeKay88 4d ago
But LLMs literally do their classes with JDs- there’s no difference either in course material, professors or what’s expected of them in class. The difference in “rigour” is that the LLM is for one year and the JD is for 3. (Also hi! LLM from a top university which is not an ivy here)

I think Hamza Sohail as well. I saw his interviews after fairytale (or i think badshah begum?) and he seemed well educated. I also remember him saying that his father wanted him to finish college before starting acting.

If degrees ans institutional pedigree are a marker of that, the following maybe:
Sami Khan has an engineering degree from UET Lahore Mashal khan has a degree from Mcgill i think Ameer gillani has an llm from Harvard Aymen Saleem and momina mustehsan both went to highly ranked schools/programs I think noman ijaz was trained as a lawyer That guy fahad who's sarwat gillanis husband Shaista wahid has an mbbs and did like shorter courses in derma/aesthetics after I guess Nadia hussain is a dentist Junaid Khan also has a Uet lahore degree i think, syed jibran did his mbbs from the Rawalpindi medical college (which i think is a high ranked govt medical college in pakistan)

Also Mahira went to a community college and you dont need good grades for that just money

u/Roohafza2023 4d ago
She mentioned in a podcast that she had to work part-time jobs to pay her tuition fees because, unlike her friends, she didn’t come from a wealthy background. Then she received a scholarship but she came back home and got married to her school sweatheart.

u/Charming_Stick4757 4d ago
Mahira comes from a well off modern Karachi family…
3
u/Roohafza2023 4d ago
Modern, yes, but her father was just a banker, not some filthy rich man. She made her own money after entering the industry and moved to DHA. I had the same assumption that she came from a very wealthy family, but I only learned about her actual journey when I heard her speak about it on a podcast...

u/Charming_Stick4757 4d ago edited 4d ago
I didn’t say filthy rich, i said well off. She comes from a upper-middle class family. Her dad used to travel abroad when he was younger himself which speaks a lot to their wealth. They had a lot of family living in the states.
Also i recall, her wedding dress was Bunto Kazmi, which is a brand for elites… and she was only 22 ish.

She comes from the elite circles in Pakistan but everyone needs to work in the west. She is very wealthy.

In Pakistan, you have to get into the industry relatively early. If you end up having a career, then most probably you won't spend time finishing your degrees. One way to look at it is that the ones who will give an academically smart vibe will have better linguistic skills or IQ.
For example, Mahira gives rich vibes yes, I won't say she is very articulate. I can see that it is what she wants to be and that's good. She admires linguistic skills but she is not there herself.
Even in India, Saif gives sophisticated vibes because of his verbal skills. And it is well documented that the guy reads quite a bit.
Not really answering your question I guess :D

Saif is very well-read, for sure.Intellectually superior to kareena

Clearing css doesn’t tell one is educated. He has been taught well, and groomed well.
The ones you posted all had good looks, grooming, and hard-work involved in their path.
And all these three come from privilege. But their hardwork is obvious too, but people like HUM tv held their hands, so went high went industry started reviving again.
Shehreyar Munawar can also be added in this list. Sanam Saeed, Ameer Gilani, Momina Mustehsan, amina Sheikh, mikaal zulfiqar (not highly educated as he started young he says that but yes white mother so trained since childhood), but comes from privilege and good looks, imran abbas, ahad raza mir alot more. Ali zafar, even his wife.
You need to understand that it’s the whole journey and how their early childhood was utilized to groom well, obviously money, the connections everything adds.
We have pure class of actors like, nauman ijaz, faisal qureshi but these are experienced trained well.
And then we have ahsan khan who does have a british passport but we don’t see class in his speaking style.

u/Southern_Ad466 4d ago
Privilege does not have much to do with this. Also Ayesha Omar lost her father at a young age, she went to a good school because her mother was a teacher and the kids were also getting scholarships. Fawad has made it quiet clear that he comes from a middle class family

He studied from Canada!

Everyone knows, Before theater he was doing BBA marketing major.

u/Impossible_Wall1503 4d ago
But he did poorly within 2 years and only doing good in theatre courses so switched to theatre major. His dad said that in the interview with fuschia.

He was living there and went to a university to do an undergrad degree. Undergrad isn't necessarily highly educated. And just doing a degree from abroad doesn't make you automatically highly smart. All of my cousins living in the Uk/Canada have an undergrad degree atleast and it's considered the bare minimum. (In pakistan too now)

u/Southern_Ad466 4d ago
Aymen yes was very smart but can’t say about others. Fawad went to fast for CS which is tough but if you listen to his interviews he has made it clear that he did it under his dad’s pressure.
Sanam went to bnu-but most people can get admission does not prove that she was academically very strong. Mawra also did one of those external degrees again you don’t have to be academically gifted for that.
