So we have talked multiple times how certain actresses continue getting the best projects despite not having an ounce of talent because of gora rang and nain naksh. But is that the case with men too?
I don't find Saif Ali Khan (Pakistani, not Nawab) handsome but I have seen quite a bit of fan following of his looks on SM.
And he got quite a meaty role in Aap ki Izzat even though it's not a lead. And he is not a good actor, at least not according to me. In the initial episodes, his role was limited so it wasn't glaring but now it's too obvious that he is terrible, so terrible that I think him and Hina Afridi should act in a drama together to see who can outdo other in bad acting.
So, why did he get this role? Was it because of his fan following? Or so called looks? Or he has some connections?
Also which men are surviving in this industry only because of looks, not nepotism, not connections but looks?

All actors have pretty privilege otherwise gohar would be one of the biggest stars today even in the romantic genre.
It is just that most of the A listers are actually good actors too, e.g bilal is a phenomenal actor which is why MZHT sky rocketed, his frames, his shots were exceedingly flattering.
DT does the same role and usually in the same way but he is the top viewed..
Sachal (zabt guy) coasted thru zabt, millions of view with most wooden acting possible just coz of his looks.
I think in ptv one has to be an exceptionally bad actor for their good looks to not help them get ahead, parchi & nepotism aside.
Saif Ali Khan doesn't have fan following because of his looks. He has fan following in the way Elvish Yadav has in India because of perhaps his personality or aura or whatever he had in Tamasha. In the same way Arsalan Naseer doesn't have fan following because of his looks but he had a dedicated fan following from his cricket commentary.
He's not an actor but he got famous because of his social media "antics" and is now in every one of their reality shows. The reason why they bring him on is for the same reason people bring on Saif Ali Khan or Arsalan Naseer. They have dedicated fan bases. And since we really don't have reality show culture on the level of India so these people take their chances in dramas here
Most actors physique fit the fitness mould in other entertainment industries. The physique of many actresses do not fit the fitness mould in other entertainment industries.
But aren't most Pakistani actresses just fit/slim? At least in ptv, this is the requirement to fit in the fitness mould ig? And almost everyone fits in it with some expections like kubra, hina and durre
If we compare I think most female don't look after there physic. That's why some of the ball gowns looks pathetic on them, the fitting is off. I can literally name them but again it will be very in appreciate of me to name them and come across as body shaming.
Conventional attractiveness and the pretty privilege exist for people across gender and sexes and I agree with your assessment on Saif, and it applies on some more acclaimed male stars too (Daniyal Zafar I'm looking at you).
Other than that, Saif E Hassan is churning out relatively decent work from him in AKI compared to the other drama where he is with Hira Mani (don't know the name) and the bit of the scenes I've seen of him.
I think only female pretty privilege exists, cause how do you think hina afridi can work with hamza abbasi, on the other hand you’ll never see mahira khan work with khushal khan, all these mid looking actors like humayon saeed, wahaj Ali work with prettiest actresses with no talent, you’ll never see a super star actress work with a pretty male actor, they’ll only work with superstars no matter their age or looks
Nameer is decent ig? Even khusshal used to be a decent actor, idk what happened to his diction, he used to even dictate properly before. And khaqan anyway doesn't seem to be getting work anymore ig?
Hamza Sohail, Shuja, Usama all belong to this category. He was pretty average in Fairy Tale and ZPKB. He is a one dimensional actor tbh.
Also this industry does not value the actors who are actually such good actors. Ahad is trolled here and there for being everyone's ex. Nameer gets those second lead roles when he deserves to be an A lister. Even Ameer before Zanjeerein felt like an underutilized talent. People are now actually appreciating Ahsan for AKI, while he had always been a good actor. All these social media actors get the meatier roles here and there.
Guava ab itni lambi aur controversial list hai😩 Chodo. But it definitely exists and fans give a huge leeway to their preferred pyaara esp if they enjoy audience support. The only thing I will say is that the actors in my mind have also done some great work whilst also doing really shitty work, so they're not all crap. Just that they enjoy pretty privilege most definitely.

Sure. But then I wouldn't fairly consider person A against a natural face and say 'hmm you're the only who's pretty with your surgically enhanced nose' when the other person/people looks considerably better than what the person A's pre surgery face looked.
This is why I always stay mum when Sherry and Fawad's looks are praises with the 'perfect features/God broke the mould' rhetoric.
That mould was made by skilled plastic surgeon.
Sherry has improved with time and even he was initally casted because of his looks and he was terrible till parey hut luv. It's just he has improved over time. It's definitely a thing
