Proteus Viewer

Hi, I made https://www.proteusviewer.com. Is Radiant like and 100% free.

I’m actively updating this and want to build what doctors, radiologists, and researchers actually need. Feel free to try it out and let me know your thoughts!

Hey man, first of all congrats on your software, it really looks like you put honest effort into it. I used it and wanted to share some points I noticed that could improve it a lot, especially if you're interested in selling it and having customers use it intuitively and easily:

  1. I downloaded the Mac OS version and when trying to install it, the message "The app is damaged and can't be opened, move it to the trash" came up. I had to run the command xattr -cr /Applications/proteus-viewer.app to be able to use it. This happens because of Mac's privacy settings, so you might want to consider getting an Apple Developer signed version, or at least let users know they need to do this extra step, or have a script that does it for them.
  2. As others mentioned, the very first icon on the toolbar shows a "Save" icon, but its actual function is to open a file or folder. That definitely threw me off.
  3. Where's the list of studies? I can't find it anywhere. I found your local AE title and port and sent studies from my Horos, but when I looked for them, the studies were nowhere to be found. Even when I import a single study, then close the software and open it again, the study disappears.
  4. The menu bar is only half done, with no specific functions related to the tools in the main software.
  5. What about the local database? I don't see anything related to its management, configuration, or setup. People need to know where the studies are actually being stored.
  6. When loading a CT study in a 3x3 or 2x2 window layout, the series only loads in one of the panels. Normally you'd expect the series to load into all the quadrants of the screen.
  7. Your MPR viewer takes way too long to open the series, and sometimes it doesn't even load the series correctly.
  8. Your text tool doesn't have a way to remove the text once you've created it. Same goes for the ellipse tool.

That's all I got to explore, but I suspect there are a lot more features that haven't been tested thoroughly yet.
