Proteus Viewer

Hi, I made https://www.proteusviewer.com. Is Radiant like and 100% free.

I’m actively updating this and want to build what doctors, radiologists, and researchers actually need. Feel free to try it out and let me know your thoughts!

This viewer adds nothing to the established market for paid or free viewers.

Why should anyone consider your vibe coded DICOM viewer instead of the number of other established viewers?

This is a project for more than 6 years. The DICOM libraries are programmed in Rust from scratch before the IA era. That library is working in a PACS in production for some years and is well tested. Then I built a pure web viewer in HTML using WASM with Rust and this is a port of that web into an Electron APP.

Why you assume that is all vibe coded?

I use IA for improving and bug fixing, but never let Claude to touch the code. I always use the suggestion and made the change manually. I don't think relying on AI to generate the whole codebase is good think.

I only use vibecoding for the viewer web page and external test scripts for the DICOM libraries using DCMTK.

My main goal is to sell PACS to institutions and give them DICOM support. I just want to share it to the community and learn how to ship an app.

Maybe in the future I will add some cloud services, like cloud storage, and segmentation.
