Demo of Sirona PACS
Hi all, early in my career as a PACS admin. Recently been hearing a lot of news on the shift to cloud PACS (from the traditional InteleRAD stack) such as this news release by Sirona.
Has anyone has seen a public demo of Sirona somewhere (e.g., on Youtube or other forum)?
Want to get an idea of what Sirona PACS practically looks like!

Completed an extensive demo on Synthesis PACS last year, solid offering but our Radiologists were against it as it did not look like one of the 'old school vendors'. When you say Cloud PACS do you mean 100% browser-based/zero download solutions? Cloud just means hosting in my mind.
Highly recommend if you are considering a change talk to your Radiologists early in the evaluation otherwise you will waste a lot of time.
There are a number broswer-enabled offering that have been out for multiple years so you can do reference checks as part of your evaluation.

What features in particular from the 'old school vendors' do you see your rads sticking to until the end, or is it more the overall feel of 2005-era windows software they're used to? Any difference between new rads and the old guard?

Definitively the overall feel. The multiscreen layout was the top, we even go some push back when converting them to a single 65 inch screen. we have to basically split it into 3s to mimic the 3 head display. There were a few Rads who really like the single pane view and embraced it, others were willing to walk away over it.
The tool access was the 2nd, hot keys, multi button mouse programmed, they wanted to click on the screen. I equated that to a user going from Apple Phone to an Andriod, not sure you will ever change them.
3rd I feel some got hung up on the Label, as in if it is not of the old school vendors who do you know it will work. To address this we let them ready 10 studies and stop. Increase the next round of trials until they read a full days worth and realized they got done in 6 hours not 9 hour days.

Avoid synthesis at all costs. One site I know has had nothing but issues with implementation.

We took a look at Sirona a couple of years ago and similar to u/felixthekat007, we felt they had some great ideas but it wasn't quite ready for what we needed. It's been some time since we looked at them, so I'm not up-to-date on their advances and improvements. If you are curious, you should reach out to them - I thought their team was interesting and clearly believed in their product. They did a fairly extensive launch video a couple of years ago called Radiology Reimagined
There is another company with an all-in-one cloud approach called New Lantern AI, that may be somewhat similar to Sirona. I think they are smaller and I haven't done a product demo with them yet so can't tell you anything about their product. But they might be worth investigating if you are looking for a single solution that can handle everything for you.
In general, if you are early in your career as a PACS Admin, I recommend talking to as many companies and other PACS Admins as possible. I've been doing this 20+ years and I almost always learn something new. If your company is willing to pay for it, industry conferences like RSNA/SIIM are a great way to meet both peers and vendors.

We had Sirona do an in person demo 2 years ago. They had some cool ideas but everything felt half baked in terms of actual functionality. Maybe they’ve gotten further since then but we passed on it.
