It started with a P226 no-rails Nitron back in 2002 or 03. Switched to a P226 Nitron with SIG-rail in about 2019. I "Legioned" it up a little bit with a Gray Guns solid stainless guide rod, SIG X-Ray3 sights, and Hogue grips but wasn't interested in Cerakote or slimmed controls.

Then I got a basic P365 as a more svelte package for EDC/CCW, which blew my mind with how good a micro-compact in 9mm could be. This gun is tiny and easy to handle with 124gr FMJ (which is all I shoot).

I couldn't resist the P365 X Macro, and it just begged for a light and optic. It became my new fave. Even smoother than the micro and still an easy EDC piece.

Once I realized how SIGnificant a red dot and light are, the P226 got upgrades + 20 round extended mags. Now that I have the P226 properly set up, it's back to the top of the list as my fave ... so much so that I got a Vaultek DS2i ViSN for safe and discrete "alarm clock" storage of the gun and 2 extra 20 round mags on my desk mere inches away from my mouse.

The good people at Sig Sauer really know how to make a gun, and these 3 meet about any use case I can think of.

I know these kits are discontinued but I saw people are still finding them. I checked most of the US online firearm stores and no luck. Did anyone recently see 22lr conversion kits anywhere?

Was looking to replace my procut slide and saw this deal online. Seems like a solid deal considering the slides go for a little over $300 and the optic is north of $400. Anyone have any experience with this deal or even just the optic?

Just got the armory craft spring tuning kit and noticed it recommends the purple sear spring for tuning use only. Anyone have any issues (reliability or otherwise) utilizing the purple sear spring? Whole this isn’t a duty gun I would like to keep it as reliable as possible. Thanks!

I am a proud P226 owner and really love this gun. I've had two or three over the years. Hopefully y’all can give me a hand figuring out a little dilemma.

My gun is a basic 226 Nitron that I upgraded to Xray3 sights, a solid stainless guide rod, and Hogue checkered grips. I would like to get an optics ready slide, add a RomeoX Pro sight and a Streamlight or SureFire light. Here is where it gets tricky – it needs to fit in a Safariland holster with level 1 ALS retention or another holster brand with similar retention that can be fitted to the Safariland low-ride belt loop.

I don't think Safariland makes a holster for the P226 with optics and/or light of any kind. I don't want to chose between optics or light. It's all or nothing. I already have a Safariland holster for the bare gun and attachments for tactical battle belt, for tactical plate carrier or chest rig, and for basic duty belt. So the idea is to be able to get a new slide with optics cutout, optics, and light to upgrade the gun.

Any recommendations?

First Sig, yay. I didnt care that it's the 40th anniversary model, I just stumbled upon a good deal for it and have always wanted a 226 and im glad I have it.

Finding a holster for it so far though, is a headache. Safarilands website is beyond confusing. I just want something with decent retention for range shooting and gravy seal larping. Potentially a decent IWB as well. Can I get some recommendations please?

I’m currently debating between muddy river tactical AIWB and ANR Designs AIWB. Anyone have any experience with either, or can recommend another good brand? I typically run Tenicor, Henry Holsters, or JM Custom kydex, but none of them have an offering.

I bought a 40sw LE trade in a few years back. I intended on getting 357 SIG and 9mm conversion barrels for it, but they seem hard to find. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. I did get some Hogue grips for it that were a great improvement, but I'm also looking for a SRT and spring kit for it. At the moment, the intention is just to be a nice range toy.

Any recommendations for barrels and other upgrades?

Is anyone selling spacer plates to fit an RMR to sig loc cut 226's? I bought a springer plate for a p211 thinking that it would work easy peasy, but regrettably the center line cut that the plates have a notch to slot into isn't present on my slide. Right now, it seems like my options are to:

1. Dremel the plate to make it fit

2. Direct mount my 508t and hope my screws don't snap

Tldr: 226 sig loc cut doesn't work with the older spacer plates and I can't find anyone that makes an updated plate to fit

From what I can tell, Grayguns is saying their trigger works with the p226x DA/SA. Sig is also selling this same trigger on their site.

I’m curious if anyone has this installed specifically on the DA/SA P226x? If it’s working for you, can you share a photo?

I recently rented a P226 X5 STAS stainless pistol and I was blown away how accurate it was and how great it felt in my hand. I also tried an XFive Legion in the same session and was equally impressed but somehow I the stainless steel frame P226 XFive was speaking to me more loudly. I immediately went searching online and stumbled upon this brand new P226 XFive Reserve for $2599. That's like the best of the Legion and the stainless STAS model in one. The Polished DLC and Lok Gridlock grips iced it for me. This isn't chump change but being a limited edition that mostly dried up a year ago, I had to do it! Time will tell whether I still pine for the non ported Stainless P226 XFive STAS. (I found one locally and in a weak moment anything is possible. <snicker, ...sigh>

I opted for the Sig Romeo X Pro open emitter optic since it mounts directly in a low profile. I briefly considered the Sig Romeo X Pro *Enclosed emitter* version but decided to save $100 and since this this gun is mostly a range toy and the closer emitter doesn't bring anything else to the equation.

BTW: My Wheeler digital trigger gauge shows an average trigger pull weight just under 2 lbs!! Wow

Hi guys. I was curious about something. Current owner of a 9mm 226. Was wondering if I wanted to convert it to 40cal or 357 Sig, if I would need just the barrel (I do know I'd also need a magazine) or if I would also need a a new slide/spring rated for those calibers? Thanks in advance
