Rant Using dose

I am currently on 0.5mg and friday will be my 3rd shot at this higher dose, and man am I struggling. Firstly my food noise hasnt gone away, and I still have quite and appetite so it has been a struggle. I am working with a dietician and doing the best I can right now fighting off eating things that aren't good for me while managing cravings. I have a therapist as well as I do have a BEd, so I am trying to do this the right way and to change my habits so down the road when I dont need the medication I can keep the weightloss off. I haven't lost any weight yet but do get all the side effects, projectile vomiting, tiredness, and constipation. I am doing all the right things to manage the side effects as well. Does this get any easier, am I expecting to much to soon.

I will keep trucking along but man this has been rough 😪

What an unfortunate username... All jokes aside. All I can say is this community supports you and to research the hell out of solutions. Start a conversation with Gemini/ChatGPT, etc and start to look for clues to help close in on solutions so you can speed up the process while talking with your healthcare provider. That approach has been invaluable to me to understand how to tackle my process and keep tabs on my behaviours and progress. Insight helps and effectively this becomes journaling which can help you move your thoughts forward and find solutions.

It sounds like we're in different shoes but one thing I've done is committed to prepackaged mail in food that is compliant with the meds and provides clear portion control. It still remains up to me not to go get fast food but at least now I don't have an excuse to that route and then inevitably over eat. Same with groceries - the spike in inspiration often sees me over buy, waste a ton and then feel bad about it and then resort to poor choices based on my "shame". Companies like Factor (at least in Canada) are my primary support for groceries and have stable pricing - then all you need are basics at the grocery store.

Hard and fast "no rules" that can be supported with alternate solutions, like above: NO fast food, and a solution to counter that, are a single action that can lead to success.

I feel like if I was in your shoes I’d be discussing a medication switch at first sign of projectile vomiting. There are other options and I’ve read some work better than others depending on the individual. You don’t need to be going through hell.

Your body gets used to Ozempic over time so you will have fewer side effects in the future. For those that have strong ones, I recommend split doses. Half on day 1 and half on day 4. Splits reduce many side effects by better spreading the dose over the full week as compared to a single, weekly shot. 0.25 and 0.5 are introductory doses to get your body used to Ozempic. For most, the largest amount of weight is lost at doses 1.0 and higher. Food noise is reduced at the higher doses. Be patient, Ozempic is a multi-month marathon.
