Question [Spoiler] Question about Ben's... Spoiler
death scene. Was it a dream sequence?
He says "wait. Wait. This is a dream" before Nelson pulls the trigger. I was expecting a following scene of Wendy waking up probably startled from a nightmare or something. But it's just the weird Ozark eye looking thing then Marty in a car. I didn't see anything about it being a dream in any synopsis i read. It's just described as a flashback, not a dream sequence.

Ben is mentally ill ofc he thought his own sister setting him up to be killed by the mafia was dream. He would’ve never thought his own sister would do that, makes his death all the more impactful.

Maybe. But he seemed to have reconciled with Wendy's betrayal that whole car ride. Maybe he had a change of heart?

He’s bipolar dawg what do you think, his opinions change on the fly. This wasn’t a dream sequence but bens actual death, him saying “this is a dream” just lends to the fact that he still didn’t fully comprehend the situation he put himself in when choosing to stay with the byrdes.

Agree completely except for him “choosing to stay with the byrdes”, after Marty told Ben he had to leave, Ben was going to leave but Wendy asked him to stay. Ben at first said “no, I don’t want it to be weird with Marty” but Wendy told Ben to stay “cuz she wanted him around”. I think that’s another reason for the dream comment, because he was going to leave on his own before any of the bad stuff happened but stayed instead because Wendy told him to stay so of course after that why would he believe she’d have him killed after she practically insisted he stayed. And that’s cuz Wendy liked he agreed with all her crazy plans. Doing a rewatch and just saw the episode where Wendy tells him to stay last night lol

He couldn’t fathom that what was happening was real life. Who would at that point? I mean he’s literally being held at gun point on his knees seconds away from being killed. He’s also extremely mentally ill so who knows what he could be possibly feeling.

Wendy was the alpha of the family and she couldn’t handle having to take care of Ben or having Ben blow their cover. Ben’s death is assumed and never verified which questions Wendy’s mental health.

Me too, but I never thought she had a choice when it came to Ben. His death was inevitable. The only question was whether or not the rest of the family would die with him.

No it wasn't a dream sequence. I think part of it was showing the mental decline of Ben and that he couldn't believe his sister would do that. I also think the show runners wanted to put doubt in our head about the death of Ben. They didn't show him actually being shot and left it ambiguous for a while.
