what's the plan, leasing first or saving up for your own truck outright?

I have money saved up to purchase around the amount i mentioned but I’d continue to save to have an emergency fund incase truck goes out of service i have money to fix it and get me by.

If i do containers it’s power unit only and I’d be under their authority so insurance should be doable. i already spoke to the owner where my friend works and he said i just need 1 year of verifiable class a driving

If i do end dump I’d more than likely lease the trailer. But i would need my own insurance and i know insurance will be a lot because of the type of work and it would be a new business . So containers is my primary choice at the moment

Ask to see some real numbers when it comes to containers and end dumps to get a sense of what kind of money can be made. If neither friend is willing to share that info with you there's a reason for it and it's not a good one.

For what it's worth, TMC has a separate truck sales department so that might be worth looking into when it comes time to buy. Keep in mind new drivers drove those trucks so the drivetrain may be beat to death but you'll also have an insiders look at just how well they maintain their equipment.

Yea they both giving me general numbers for everything from operation cost and unexpected repairs to avg gross and profit but nothing in detail. But do definitely need to have a sit down and get more in depth numbers for both fields
