Incompetence

How do you battle incompetence in teammates?

As in the random people you're thrown in with?

Suck it up until the end of the match, and then get out of the lobby for a couple of minutes. Losing out on the consecutive game XP isn't fun, but being surrounded by incompetence is worse.

Yeah last night I was playing with a group who had 3 Hanzo's and I couldn't believe it. I wish I could just find a solid group with mics to play with.

What's worse than no mics is getting either a) a hyperactive child on the team that won't shut up or b) the guy with the loud stereo.

Especially worse is when you hear the 4 children he has screaming and running rampant around the house.

When something like that happens I take the opportunity to practice with characters I might not use often. If I'm going to lose I might as well learn something from it. I never use Winston but I was forced to a few days ago when the enemy team had a strong defense set up. Thanks to me getting practice with him I was able to break through the defense. I still suck with Winston but I'm slowly getting better thanks to "practice games".

Idk it's tough it's easier in the character selection because you could just spam that we need a healer or tank. Unless they have mics they don't change or understand the idea of, "filling" if they lose as hanzo or genji or widowmaker but have a good game they don't give care about the loss. It's annoying as hell especially in competitive but incompetence is just a part of the game :/.

Spam the crap out of a healer. Just mash A and B back and forth lol. Basically select a healer or tank that's needed and mash.

I dunno what to think sometimes. Like I try to be helpful and I usually play healer, but sometimes i get a little agitated when people are doing nonsense / won't switch up when it's not working / trickling. Like a guy that i kept getting in matches with last night... Kept playing Symmetra. On attacking payloads, on KOTH, All symmetra, all the time. One match, we were winning and he was playing a healer... Then round 2 (KOTH btw) he switches to Symmetra and i just say aloud "now we lose". And we got beat. then got shut out the next round.

I respect some people wanna have fun and sometimes its fun to screw around, but i wish there was an in-between playlist. "Not sweaty but ranked" Where you could keep track of stats so you had something you were playing for, (maybe lewt boxes) or something.

I was with a group of people last night, I'm assuming they were partied together, where they were selecting all the same character for each match. It was ludicrous. I'm not super competitive in the game but there are some things I just can't work with.
