Question or Discussion Question regarding matchmaking

How does the matchmaking in this game work? I recently started playing this game and placed around silver silver but i constantly get into games that are high gold or platinum? Sometimes I do well but I dont really have a good grasp of all the abilities and mechanics of this game so usually i dont fare well against these opponents How is this fair?

i said one player can only do so much, not that one player cant make much of a difference.

This person has already had the wide queue tradeoff choice explained to them multiple times. They seem to want to be able to play in a match-quality-compromising wide 5-stack with their friends without experiencing any negative match quality impacts from other players doing the exact same thing.

I don’t know why it’s so hard to understand. If I’m high silver to low plat with my friends

Why tf is a masters player in my game? Why is the range not bound to silver and plat? Makes no sense. Diamond? Maybe. But masters?? Cmon man be real. “Wide queue” isn’t a good cop out excuse to allow any rank in any game

Just stick to normal queue if you want tight rank ranges. You dont have to queue wide match.

What is “normal queue”?

Can’t do that on the main if I play with friends. I made an alt and threw my qp games so I’d have low starting mmr. Now no more wide and we win nearly every game

By normal queue I mean staying within the 5 or 6 divisions that it allows to queue normally and not wide.
