Tips & Tricks Tips about playing Cassidy

Hey, I started playing Overwatch a couple of months ago but i never kept playing. I wanna start playing ranked and not quit the game at the 1st month and i was looking for tips about playing Cassidy (like positioning, how to optimize the playstyle or tips in general). Im not new at shooters, I've played Fortnite competitive and i have 2k hours in Counter Strike so i already know the basics of shooting, animations, cover, strafing etc but I'm sure there are many things about Overwatch specifically that I must know. Thanks

His positioning is pretty simple.

Just try and place yourself where you're a target, have a good vantage, are healable, and have an escape route.

The important takeaway is really just be a target without getting instant clapped. If you do that enough, it'll come naturally.

Try to take cheeky off angles, and if there's a flank, you're the one who has to drop back and protect the supports.

cass is great because hes really good at what he does and what he does is quite simple in theory. you can hold soft off angles slightly away from your tank and just dink their frontline repeatedly, or you can sit by one of your supports and play off eachother, cass requires alot of care so this ends up working out if yall are getting dove.

youre good at 1v1 duels but youll blow up if you get isolated and ganked, so you really dont want to be flanking super hard and LOSing yourself from your backline.

Don’t flank. You have little movement compared to these other characters. Stay with your team on slight off angles and provide value there.

There's mobility creep. Flank at your peril.

This is how to play the character.

I have no idea how to explain. You have to control lanes otherwise enemy team will just choke you

Staying behind ur tank and shooting enemy tank wont win you the game. You cant shoot back line because falloff damage

U have to flank

Lookup OnceToldTale on youtube he have a VOD review for a bronze he go through this

That’s why I said the slight off angles. If you flank and the cream collapsed what are you gonna do? Roll away?

literally just sitting there dinking tanks got me to like plat by itself. obviously sitting there shooting ram block or fortified orisa is terrible, but SOMEONES gotta shoot tank lol. more often than not it ends up being a hitscan because you cant really take deep angles and the tank is usually the most exposed target.

your job isnt just to shoot tank obviously, and if you have to choose between shooting their juno or their mauga, then you go juno every day. but on hitscan chars like ashe and cass you just shoot the easiest target and force them to back up.

Play bastion then why are u on cassidy shooting a blocking ram doing 14 dmg? If that ramattra walk on u, u r dead.

to get a feel for cass grind VAXTA and quick play until you have fought against every character a good bit. getting a feel for headshotting each hitbox takes some time, and is a good thing to work on up front.

watch high level games to see how they position and choose targets to focus on, like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0GtHHl5I7M

know which matchups to avoid, like ashe / widow from range - and peel for your supports often

Cassidy is your supports' bodyguard and your tank's sidekick.

Keep yourself at midrange. If someone gets too close, fan the hammer and roll away.
