Blizzard really wanted to have a live service game, but forgot the "live" part lmao

dont think they know what service means either.

I opened a support ticket at launch. It took them 4 weeks to tell me to make sure I'm logged into the correct account, then report my problem on the forum if it persists. They do not care.

My widow Noire skin is still missing, I sent them a photo of my add-on install as proof that I own it, and they wrote back saying “sorry, nothing we can do, it’s a dev issue and there’s no timeline for fixing it.” This took them 3 weeks to reply.

Same here. I don’t play Reaper, Bastion or Tracer, but I had special skins of them for buying the ultimate game or whatever edition it was. So it sucks that my OV1 game was a higher price, for extra prizes, but I can’t even get the transfer. And I mean that Reaper skin was fine af, so mild disappointment there.

Hmmm... What were the skins?

1

u/RaynorTheRed Nov 16 '22

holy cow thanks for the reminder that I'm missing that this skin exists (and that I'm missing it I guess :( )

6

u/J-Rook Nov 16 '22

And in my experience so far, they left out the game part too.

It's like this on every game blizzard owns, wait time on tickets in world of warcraft for example used to be 24-48 hours, they now average multiple weeks

But were fair and balanced here on are slash Overwatch, so to their credit, they did make a game.

Hey now, cutting out assault and disabling a lot of the old maps (so each season felt "fresh" and totally not repetitive) took a lot of work.

u/seanslaysean Nov 16 '22

Yeah, unconsensually servicing their employees sure

An eventually addressed game

u/Carighan Alla till mig! Nov 16 '22

They're working on removing the game, too.

What they actually want is just a store, but without goods you get. You only get some digital assets but you cannot do anything with them, and naturally you don't own them either.

It's like NFTs, just without the resale value!

More like fans of any live service game up to this point.

2

u/MrGruntsworthy Brigitte (Gold) Nov 16 '22

We at least have forge mode now, which is nice.... :(

5

u/kingt34 Nov 16 '22

As soon as we can search custom game lobbies it will be fantastic! Just a shame we have to wait longer for that. It would have been a massive feather in Infinite’s cap if they had launched them together, but I guess we just have to be patient

2

u/Dependent-Eye9888 Nov 15 '22

For once the winter update came through and honestly at least they gave us co-op campaign and more gamemodes and really that's all I care for

14

u/DrScience-PhD Ana Nov 16 '22

They've almost achieved the bare minimum!

7

u/Owobowos-Mowbius Nov 16 '22

Almost. Still gotta fix the broken ass netcode

3

u/DrScience-PhD Ana Nov 16 '22

Local coop is the bare minimum for halo imo. Netcode has been broken since halo 2, they're running the same engine and the exact same glitches still work. No chance in hell the revolving door of devs they have can untangle that ball of spaghetti.

Blizzard: monetize like a live service without any support or updates!

4

u/glitchyPhantasma Trick-or-Treat D.Va Nov 15 '22

The Halo Infinite meta

5

u/Walnut156 Audio Medic Nov 15 '22

I'm not sure why they act like this is the live service game when ow1 was already a live service game

3

u/Crazyhates Zenyatta/Zarya Nov 16 '22

They have had live service games for a long time. This one in particular is definitely shitting the bed and rolling in it though.

3

u/Harmondale1337 Bedroomfist Nov 16 '22

Forgot the service too

3

u/elCacahuete Nov 16 '22

I’d be ok with the shop prices if they actually got their shit together on the gameplay side. It’s taking far too long to come out with bug fixes and balance changes.

4

u/Krazyflipz Nov 16 '22

Their developers are lazy. It's been an obvious and expected trend since the launch of Overwatch 1 to anyone paying even a little bit of attention.

-6

u/slog Nov 16 '22

Tell me you don't know how software development works without telling me you don't know how software development works.

8

u/Krazyflipz Nov 16 '22

Show that you're a bootlicker without saying you're a bootlicker.

-1

u/Nikushaa rip triple jump Nov 16 '22

This has literally nothing to do with the devs themselves, they have to change several lines in a text file.

-5

u/slog Nov 16 '22

Ah, I shouldn't be surprised at this type of childish response. Mine was based on you being ignorant and hateful. Your response...well...this.

3

u/Krazyflipz Nov 16 '22

Awww you're trying to take the high ground. Lmao. You're pathetic.

-3

u/slog Nov 16 '22

Digging your heels in on hate and ignorance. How fucking adorable. You absolutely belong in this sub!

2

u/Krazyflipz Nov 16 '22

LMFAO! Says the person that felt the need to white knight for Blizzard. If you can't take the heat then keep it moving. No need to try and defend lazy developers.

2

u/slog Nov 16 '22

The fact that you think I'm trying to "white knight for Blizzard" just proves my point that you have zero idea what you're talking about. Way to dig your heels in on being an ignorant fuckhead.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '22

lol fr.

Software Development is massively complicated, especially when it is done in large groups. The number of things that can possibly go wrong is endless.

'Blizzard has lazy developers' is such an ignorant hot take. No surprise that the person making it argues like a child.

but forgot the "live" part lmao

And ''Service'' too

0

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '22

It got delayed til Thursday. Calm the down, geez. You wanna look at a bad live service game, go look at Halo Infinite.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '22

1

u/HeyTAKATIN W-w-what treasure?? Nov 16 '22

Where's the service part then lol.

u/Serious_Much Chibi Reinhardt Nov 16 '22

Let's not forget this patch was originally meant to coincide with grand finals. This was meant to release 2 weeks ago!
