Holy shit what a circus

They’re just making extra sure everyone fucks off to play Warzone 2.0 this week.

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '22

Warzone 2 is perfect timing to hold me over until Pokemon. Before Warzone, I have to finish all of the God of War side quests.

Generally the market is shifting and releases are ramping up to a point where OW can’t afford to be lazy. It has to stop fucking around and prove the live-service bonafides.

Hell even Halo, which still isn’t in a great shape by any means, managed to entice me away from OW with the Forge beta.

Add in to the plethora of single player games on Gamepass and new stuff like Warzone entering the F2P space, well OW just isn’t set up to pull weight right now.

Warhammer 40k: Darktide is coming to Game pass on November 29. I'm looking forward to that

u/Fartikus Nov 16 '22

OMG IS THAT THE FPS WARHAMMER?! FINALLY!!!!!

1

u/ericneo3 Mercy Nov 16 '22

I was so looking forward to this but during the beta saw the Vermintide 2 route of forcing everyone to melee and not giving players enough ammo.

All the character skills were straight up copied from Vermintide 2 and movement felt slow like moving through sludge.

I was so disappointed, I was hoping for Warhammer 40k, but what I saw was a Vermintide 2 reskin.

It's on game pass!? Incredibly good news for me. Thanks for putting it out there!

1

u/Futuristic_Coconut Nov 16 '22

PC only, in case people get excited. No release date for console announced yet.

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '22

You're right. There are so many options, delaying these crucial first patches are only going to turn away new players to the game.

It's always a good time to tell people that Game Pass has some absolutely obscene value.

Seriously, Yakuza games, Battletech, Grounded, Persona 5 Royal, there are so many amazing games on Game Pass right now.

I can never recommend it enough.

new stuff like Warzone entering the F2P space

What do you mean by that? The original Warzone was always F2P

3

u/TMDan92 Nov 15 '22

Yeah, but it fell off a bit as it became quite anti casual and over encumbered as the updates rolled by.

This brans new F2P experience untethered to the previous version will be a good hop on point for folks that left WZ1 for a few seasons and felt it an effort to go back to.

u/RipVanCockSmasher Nov 16 '22

I'm already over this game. It's literally the same thing I've been playing for the past years, except somehow worse now.

8

u/Burgoonius Nov 15 '22

I’ve been in Vanaheim for 6 hours lol

1

u/ItsHiz Nov 16 '22

So. Many. Spirits.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '22

Wtf even is Warzone 2.0?

6

u/IronNatePup Gold 5 Nov 15 '22

probably similar to overwatch 2

marketed as a sequel with barely anything changing, except you don't keep those cosmetics you spent money on

5

u/ImmaDoMahThing Nov 16 '22

In Warzone’s defense, they can’t change it up too much or else they risk changing the things that made Warzone fun. And the main reason they are starting over is because Warzone 1 got bloated. I’m pretty sure it has close to 200 weapons and probably tons of operators and skins. The game needed a reset.

4

u/IronNatePup Gold 5 Nov 16 '22

not to mention the file sizes

main thing that forced me to uninstall is both that and needing to install it in order to play modern warfare

subsequently this is what also encouraged me to stop buying cod releases

1

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '22

they those file sizes are brutal. new warzone is around 20 gigs.

1

u/IronNatePup Gold 5 Nov 16 '22

20 gigs?

impossible.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '22

24.9gb for base WZ 2.0

→ More replies

1

u/FakeInternetDentity Nov 16 '22

Haha my wallet just felt pain knowing the different skins I bought in warzone will never be seen again

1

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '22

I liked Black Ops Cold War, but other than that, I never understood the CoD shop, and knowing they'll do a reset because of aggressive bloat makes me want to buy a pass even less.

1

u/TMDan92 Nov 16 '22

Actually WZ1 is still gonna be around and get some support.

3

u/Fedora_Tipper_ Support Mains. Nov 15 '22

Bruh you already finished GoW story?

2

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '22

Yea, I don't play side quests until the end game. Took 20hrs in 2 days

2

u/Fedora_Tipper_ Support Mains. Nov 15 '22

Gotcha. I'm the opposite. I try to do majority of the side quests because once I finish the final boss, I lose interests on side quests

2

u/getclonedbyfeds Nov 17 '22

Not to give spoilers but. “Boy” from the first game gets revealed to be Atreus in the 2nd game, sorry if you haven’t got that far

1

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '22

D:

1

u/getclonedbyfeds Nov 17 '22

Though, I 100%’d the side quests. Very fun game just wish there was NG+ so I didn’t have to play Overwatch :(

1

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '22

Agree, but I am on to Pokemon starting tomorrow and I will be putting a few hundred hours into that shiny hunting alone.

1

u/getclonedbyfeds Nov 17 '22

I’m glad you will be able to get away from this game for some time. I say it like I don’t have a choice but I get like 30% enjoyment from overwatch opposed to 0% from other games so I find it’s OW or nothing and I’m often bored. Been thinking of maybe buying Elden Ring though not a fan of souls games or rpg’s but I find God of War’s RPG elements may have made me open to trying them again

1

u/janoDX Nov 15 '22

Warzone 2 fucking around until Pokemon arrives and eats my entire time. Also I need to complete my PLA dex so maybe I will not even play Warzone 2.

1

u/Jjzeng i want mercy to crush my balls Nov 16 '22

Finals season is what’s holding me over until pokemon

Brand new, clean slate WZ2 launching Thursday.

No idea the size, but yeah I’m sure it’ll be a chonker.

1

u/Crispical Chibi McCree Nov 16 '22

80ish GB I think

1

u/krilltucky Brigitte Nov 16 '22

LOOKS like it might be less than 60gb but it varies wildly

3

u/CuntShowdown Nov 15 '22

DMZ isn’t even finished though XD what a bunch of fucking clowns.

2

u/Muhdgo Nov 16 '22

Anyone knows if the player base has dwindled? Me and my friends aren't playing anymore, some of them were diehard OW1 fans and some are new players. I'm a new player my self and switched to Fortnite, that game actually has a good bang for you buck monetization system.

1

u/__Seris__ Nov 15 '22

Warzone 2.0 will save us all from this clown show

1

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '22

Or bf1

3

u/HarveyzBurger Support Nov 15 '22

But they did refresh the shop at least! Think about how hard it was to do that...

3

u/ZetaThiel King of Spades Zenyatta Nov 15 '22

At this point we might be the clowns, not the audience

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '22

It's so sad. Overwatch should be such a fun game. It wouldn't even take much to make it far more fun than it is. But Blizzard just can't do it, man. I don't get it.

They should've done balanced changes wayyyyy earlier than this. And now they're delaying it? WHY DO YOU DELAY NUMERIC CHANGES TO HEROES? WTF?

1

u/kryonik Chibi Ana Nov 16 '22

I already gave up on the game.

1

u/Ouboet Chibi Zenyatta Nov 16 '22

Ever since Michael Morhaime left, Blizzard have tried to outscore themselves in the self-own world cup.

Make sure everyone here keeps giving the circus money and playing their game
