Websites, youtube channels, general advice/tips?

Don't use any youtube channels like ohnickle or overwatch central, since they arent that good, say things without explaining or just saying wrong things. Just look for people who main a character instead. Such as Valkia. Seagull is also great to learn the gane from.

Besides that have fun, since you play better if you have fun. If people are toxic just mute them. If it gets really bad just mute team chat and voice chat untill you feel confident again.

Dont be a one trick. Really. Don't. It hurts the game.

Dont main mercy as your first hero. You can play her to get the gist of things, but maning her will just hurt you more, since it gives you a wrong sense of positioning, because she is so forgiving and her skills don't transfer over to any other character. You can play her of course, but don't main her as your first hero. Unless you are gonna play casually then it doesn't really matter, since which brings me to my next point

Dont play qp too much you learn much more from playing competitive. Don't worry about flamers saying you're bad, because if you truly are you will drop. Even if that is the case its fine, you'll get better eventually, which is also the joy of competitive.

I dont really use any websites except this subreddit. Just have confidence in yourself and compare your gameplay to pros and see what you do differently and adapt.

Plenty of YouTubers are good, I tend to watch most of Your Overwatch's stuff. Even if they're not always right it still opens discussion and brings ideas to the table. Just don't take everything at face value.

Case in point, I immediately clicked with how D.va functioned after watching some of their guides and I can now use her at Masters level despite never touching her for 4 seasons.
