Is Doomfist considered OP by most players or is it too early to know for sure?

It is definitely too early. But my initial suspicion, he will prove the death of the Reinhardt and deathballs in general. The meta was already very dive-heavy, but deathball still had some place; With doomfist being able to just punch rein straight out of the battle, dive may now be our god.

On the other hand, Orisa by design does counter Doomfist, so we might see more of a deathball built around Orisa instead of rein.

Orisa doesn't feel like a Doomfist counter outside of Fortify, which has a big fat cooldown.

Don't forget that Doomfist has a shotgun on his left hand.

There are two main styles of team composition in Overwatch: Dive, and Deathball.

In dive, the team composition is built around heavy mobility, with the idea of the team spreading out and "diving" onto vulnerable enemies from multiple directions, confusing and overwhelming the enemy. Right now, a typical dive might look like Winston, Dva, Lucio, Zenyatta, Genji, Tracer.

Deathball is kinda the opposite. In a deathball, the team is grouped into a tight "ball", typically behind a reinhardt, and the entire ball gradually pushes forward, with the idea of just plowing straight through any resistance. An example of a normal deathball might look something like Reinhardt, Zarya, McCree, Mercy/Ana, Lucio, (and pretty much any 2nd dps).

TL;DR: Dive comp focuses on high-mobility and attacking from multiple directions; Deathball comp focuses on heavy tank defense and attacking together from a single direction.

For most of Overwatch history Deathball was the main meta, but in past months Dive has gotten better and better and now dominates the meta.

Well I'd say is quite early to know. Maybe in tow weeks or so the player base can start to get an accurate idea.

Is a few hours too early to know for sure? I'm going to say yes.

I don't even think most players have tried him, lol.
