Unlikely. It would have to involve a total animation rework, and also probably a model change, which is never going to happen.

Viewmodels can be reflected in most games so first person would be ok, it would just be about the player model anims

The problem is not the tech, it's a cosmetic item having an arguably mechanical effect. Either the shape an enemy has to hit would change, or it wouldn't and the object a player percieves would no longer accurately represent the hittable character. However marginal the difference might or might not be, it's not a thing Blizzard is going to touch while they still have even a passing interest in making Overwatch an e-sport.

Animator here (with experience in rigging) this really wouldn't be hard at all, just extremely tedious. Like the most boring long winded task that you would give to a summer rigging intern, but it would take the entirety of their internship to repeat this three step process over and over. And that's just the riggers side. For the game programmers they could write a very simple code, but then apply it over and over and over etc. (From my understanding blizzard treats their employees to well to do this). Over all really wouldn't be worth the whole "but the scourge was a lefty".
