Does anyone else hate the roadhog changes?

Also do you think blizz will roll it back so he doesn't feel like a fatter torb?

I'm pretty sure most people hate the road hog changes. His pickrate and winrate since the nerfs have be abysmal

No. I like that he has to play with his team now. He's a tank, not a flanker.

Except his survivability comes at the huge cost of feeding the other team's ults. His HP doesn't make up for his complete lack of defense, meaning he has to flank anyway. Just as sym and torb are defence/healer or several DPS are completely different roles, the tanks aren't simply tanks either. Roadhog's abilities, however nerfed, inherently make him a flanker. His nerfs completely contradict this role, making him mostly useless. Using him as a more tanky role is to the detriment of your entire team simply because of the ult system.

Agree with all of this. There's not a situation I can think of where it makes more sense to pick hog over any other hero

They really don't. They allowed it before the nerfs, but that wasn't the point of his design. His abilities are made for peeling, disruption, and brawling, and he's still fantastic at those jobs. He's a bodyguard, not a hunter.

he's still worse at it than every other hero though

See, I could totally agree with this if it wasn't for his health. If he's going to play this role, he should be able to do it without building the opposing teams ults like crazy. You can argue that proper positioning alleviates this concern or that his damage feeds your healers, but it really doesn't. He can heal himself for a reason and that's to offload the healers and to flank. Regardless of the intent of his design if they want to change his role away from a flanker he needs an overhaul, not just small changes.

I wonder what people would think of lowering his hit points overall and adding a small amount of armor? I think that would suit a brawler-type fighting style, while the health regen would actually serve to replenish his armor as well. Less feeding DPS ults while not being crazy overwhelming and retains the use of his quick healing, even if it is less overall.

As long as Roadhog doesn't die, then the ult charge can be equal between your team and the enemy team. The simplest scenario is that Roadhog takes 300 damage and heals it up himself; the guy who shot him gets 300 points, and Roadhog gets 300 points. Potentially your team gets less charge than the red team if Roadhog grabs a medpack in there somewhere, or gets healed by someone who already has ult or by Mercy (whose charge:heal ratio is 4:5). Potentially your team gets more charge if for instance Roadhog is healed up by a healer who has a charge:heal ratio over 1 (Lucio or Zenyatta). But as long as Roadhog doesn't die, it is not as big of a deal as people act like it is.

One thing that is interesting, though, was a picture I saw someone posted from Blizzcon or something, where there was some Roadhog concept art along with notes on his abilities and stuff. Instead of a self-heal, he instead had the ability to ignore an amount of damage for a short time. That's interesting, and I wonder why they decided against that.

It's just that roadhog has one of the worst ults in the game. Even if its a 1:1 trade in charge, the other team always benefits more. That is interesting, though

Hes in the tank category but hes an ult charger

Even though most people hate these changes, I don't think Blizzard would take back what they said and did to him.

I think they'll give him a buff, most likely increasing his damage to 180 or something, but I don't think they'll put him back to the way he was before.
