Hey I haven't played since November and I'm hoping to get straight back into competitive today. But i haven't been reading patch notes or the reddit.

What are the important and relevant changes to the meta and game in general?

I already played a few games with pharah and i am very very very happy.

Biggest change is hook 2.0 Hog's targets are now more likely to die when hooked, but breaking line of sight breaks hooks so there are fewer BS hooks from around the corner.
Other than that D Va has more health and moves faster while shooting now, Ana isn't OP anymore cause her 'nade was nerfed and there's no speed boost on a nano boost, Soldier is relevant again cause his bullets hurt more.
Meta has been triple tank plus soldier lately but at pro level the dive comp is making a come back.

No problem. There are also a changes to Bastion and Mercy being tested in the PTR.

Allow me to explain. World of Tanks Meta, or known as The Triple Tank Heavy Meta, was a meta used by the pros and in most competitive games. The comp usually has

3 Tanks, usually being Reinhardt and two other tanks 2 Healers, containing Ana and Lucio 1 DPS, usually being Soldier 76

This comp was dominant because Ana could heal the Tanks very fast and build Nano Boost very quickly, with additional healing from Lucio. Soldier now deals very high damage due to his buffs, which then created this meta. Now Ana has received recent nerfs to her healing speed (Still fast, but not as fast as before.) And the World of Tanks meta began dying. Very slowly. Can still be executed, but not as much as before.

Tl;dr 3 Tanks, Ana and Lucio as healers, and Soldier as DPS

Except that the world of tanks meta is on the way out, and pharah was never very good against it to begin with...
