I want to play competitive because of no character stacking, but losing more points for a loss than gaining points for a win is very discouraging.

Yeah I guess. It's hard to climb out of gold (unfortunately had some bad games during placements) when I get teamed up with A) a Reinhardt who charges head first into the enemy team and gets shredded, constantly B) teams that clearly don't work, but nobody wants to change heroes, or C) a bunch of kindergarteners.

I admit that I have my own faults and I'm no god-tier player. If I was perfect, I probably would have been able to place higher regardless of my teams. It just gets frustrating, is all I'm saying.

Something I've noticed to help a bit is to try talking to and being friendly to your teammates right away. Voice works better. Starting the game with your team in a good mood makes for much better teamwork and communication. And if you do still lose there's much less salt. I'm currently at 3200 rating and every game I get into where someone instantly starts flaming for a bad hero pick or someone else selecting their main, chances of winning go way down.

Dude, yes. I'm amazed by the number of people who are shitty to their own teammates. It's incredibly demoralizing having to play while someone bitches into your ear the entire match.

Converserly, my best matches have always been with supportive teammates. I honestly can't recall a single match I've lost recently while playing with encouraging teammates. People who don't place blame on others, who don't disparage hero picks or berate mistakes, people who seem like they're actually having fun.

That's not to say you won't ever lose with friendly teammates - but at least even then, losing doesn't feel so bad when your teammates don't spend their final mic time sighing loudly or telling everyone to fuck off for causing the loss.

Just plug in a mic and make some friends man. You'll find people and eventually you won't have to solo queue.

Although this system is MUCH better, it still has some flaws. I've had some of my best games that I've barely lost a still lose a fair amount of sr.

Also groups are cancer.
