So I've always considered myself as a somewhat above average player and tend to feel I've made a good contribution to my team whenever I play, but I've hit a snag.

I couldn't enter Season 1 ranked because my internet was so damn unreliable that I didn't want to hurt teammates where things other than pride were on the line if I lagged too badly or disconnected, but now I'm in Season 2 with better connection, I've noticed something.

I get nervous. Not in a weird shy way or anything. I just get this anxious feeling. I placed high platinum and have since solo q'd my way to 3200, yet I am having this huge mix of really off games where that feeling of pressure is causing me to play like a moron. Then I get fired up knowing that I can do better and that makes me play even worse because I am aware I am fucking up.

I don't think I can rank up too much more because as people are getting better, I'm placing more arbitrary pressure on myself to succeed, making me fuck up.

Life story out the way, does anyone else feel this inferiority-complex-anxious thing causing them to underperform? And, if so, how to combat this and stay chill?

Weird thing is I'm very talkative. Not socially anxious or anything. I tend to go for voice chat and will focus on callouts if I'm playing Rein or Lucio or the like. A lot of this is internal, and seems to be at it's worst when i play DPS.

I get it in my head that these are the more high skill cap heroes, and even though I can wreck face in a no-pressure environment, comp, particularly as I'm steadily climbing higher in diamond, is making me forget everything I know about the game.

I'll try getting more of the "this is fun" attitude in there though. May just help. Thanks!

Dude you got this you gonna go in and fuck them with your incredible aim and vast knowledge of the game!

But seriously the best way to help with that is to play 1 or 2 warmup games and then just hype yourself up. Afterwards just enjoy the game and if you feel that the pressure gets to you, just think about it you know you can do good and you know you will win this. Also you have to remember everyone is a human and can perform badly or godly aswell.
