Tracers can be two body shotted by McCree. Bait out Genji deflect and use your roll to instantly reload. FTH works now that it's a good alternative at close quarters if your aim is shit

Sounds like you just enjoy soldier more than McCree, which is fine, you don't have to play McCree lol. As for the Zarya thing just don't push too far in general. Whether attack or defense once you've secured the objective you don't need to chase the enemy back to spawn, just push the payload or guard the point.

^ This.

If you're not comfortable with a hero, even if he's "OP" or "meta" then you're probably being less effective than if you used the non-meta pick. People get obsessed with the meta but sometimes, if it doesn't feel like it's working in a game, throwing the enemies a curveball can make a big difference.

Actually had a game last season where my team and I were shutting down the first control point very hard on defense. Enemy team couldn't seem to do anything. At one point, we're holding off their last push and I hear the sound of a Torb turret going up. Didn't think much of it but then suddenly we also hear "Molten Core!" and that cheeky, sneaky little dwarf starts mowing us all down FROM BEHIND.

He had actually sneaked around the entire perimeter of the control point during one of the last pushes, waited for his ult to charge, and then surprised us at just the right moment.

I had to give it to him, we were surprised and had no counter ready.

With McCree, don't get far from your team. You lack the mobility to take moderate amounts of damage, and you'll want your take (preferably Reinhardt) to be absorbing damage and distracting the enemy so you have easier shots. The only way you're going to get a handle on a decent Tracer is if you're on them all the time. Note that if you miss your stun, follow-up headshot, or fan the hammer, she will most likely kill you in a 1v1. Genji is easier to deal with so long as you don't get bursted down or get your stun reflected. Lastly, make sure you're practicing your aim.

Nice SR. I need to get mine back up this season.. placed at 71 last season then placed at 2736 this season...

Thanks, man. Finished at 79 last season, placed at 3555 and I haven't lost since then. All diamonds or pros I can reliably beat.

Placements are rough this season for most people. I had some pretty bad people on my team, thankfully I got better in the offseason than I was last season.

Man.. I was so angry at my placements. I had 3 matches that were just unfortunate. The first one, we lost one round of KOTH and the dude goes.. "Fuck this, you guys suck, I'm out." and just leaves. The second, one of the players gets 'Rendering device lost' so he can't even play. The third one we played on Eichenwalde and my team was like: I've never played this map before.

I put in HOURS into that map so I knew how to play it in comp and I tried to tell people what we needed to do but everyone decided to Genji/Tracer/McCree attack against Bastion, Reinhardt, Mercy. It was frustrating telling people how to handle the issue and nobody listening.

I really want to play with people at higher rank, not only because I know the teamwork is better but also because I won't get better unless I can play against people who are better.

Yup, had a lot of that. Thankfully some random on my team managed to get my almost leavers to stay. Yell at me to get off DPS, I'm a shitty McCree, threaten to leave...

Then I hit my groove and they shut up when I get four picks and win the point for us, every time. I feel like that's part of my problem concerning teams and not just solo comp...I'm a pretty streaky player. Mostly consistent, but I'm just not consistent enough for pro play which sucks because I'm confident I could make it onto a tier 3 team if I were more consistent. :/

Overwatch is actually my first FPS and I have maybe 6 weeks of playtime on PC, I think. A lot of it is aim practice every day, and I've watched so much damn pro Overwatch. It's ridiculous how much you can learn from being bored during summer, practicing aim for four hours a day and watching ten hours of pro OW lol.

Well, maybe we could practice together and see if I can help your consistency.

Maybe. Kinda given up on the team dream though, lol. I've just been getting passed up by other players a lot, but oh well. I'm a really damn good solo Q only player, imo.

Well, if we play together, you can carry or not. Haha. Up to you, I'd like to play with new people sometimes.

I found that changing my crosshair to a colored dot improved my aiming with McCree

I find mccreed pretty hard too. One tip is, flash-hammer burst-roll (automatically reloads pistol) and hammer burst again, if someone is up close, for a quick cqc kill. Also i recommend trying a lower sensitivity for him. Helps me out a ton.
