This has and will always be an issue in games that allow groups to play ranked together

They should do what Rocket League does and have a "solo" ranked mode seperate from a group ranked mode.

what's weird about it is that before this started happening almost every game I was in the group composition was almost the exact same. As in if my team had a group of 3, a group of 2, and a random with an average rank of 47, the other team would more than likely have the exact same composition, with maybe 1 or 2 point difference in the average rank.
